I think Michael is a very good looking guy, but I never really thought he was that great of a singer.

Still, I was shocked. I expected Kristy or Syesha to go, and I figured Carly would be in the bottom three.

I think is was so unexpected that Michael left last night, however, I never
cared for him. He was shocked I think too.
As far as Paula, she just loves all the guys. LOL
Carly is my favorite female and I think David A will make it through even
though he's so young. He reminds me of a younger Josh Grogan!(s)
His voice is awsome.

I don't think the votes should shock any of us....I just think that David A and David C are so popular that they are getting all of them and there is just a smattering for the rest of the contestants. I can't decide which one of them I like best.

Ryan, of course, didn't help matters with that merciless little psych-out moment: ''Now, last year during Idol Gives Back, we didn't eliminate anybody at this stage of the competition. Tonight...we're going to say goodbye to Michael Johns. I was totally shocked. I hope he gets a recording contract from someone out there.

No more Aussie accent :cry: and I will miss his singing. He was a good performer.

I was just going to post the same thing, there was this huge pause and I thought for sure he would be safe. That seemed unnecessarily cruel.

Sometimes, I think it helps if they are put in the bottom three; people will get worried and vote for their favorite. I didn't even think he was close to the bottom three. I've seen it happen before, someone safe for weeks and then boom first time in the bottom three, and they are out.

I agree. I like Carly. She has a strong voice but I agree with Simon -- she always looks angry and fierce when she sings. She hasn't really sang any songs that wow'd me, so far.

Did anyone see the TMZ show about David A? It probably offended his fans, because it was poking a bit of fun at him. They sort of slammed him a bit for always acting like he just "discovered" the song, by digging up clips of him singing the same songs at some talent show as a younger kid. But then they said they'd decided who he sounded like when he talked.... Napolean Dynomite. Then they did little clips of each of them talking, and I hate to admit it, but I did snicker (sorry!!).

Now with Michael Johns gone, we have to figure out who his votes are going to go to...will those individuals start voting for David Cook??? Everytime someone get's voted off, those votes will go somewhere. Hmmmmm

I have to comment on this though. There are a lot of screw ups when it comes to famous people. 9 times out of 10, they don't come into the business as trainwrecks. The MEDIA has a big part in helping them ruin their lives.

TMZ trashing David brought on this speech. David is a GOOD kid. He seems kind, considerate, humble, down-to-earth, appreciative, etc. And then you see people bashing him. If they didn't like his singing, that's one thing, and they have a right to comment on that. But that's not what they're even talking about. Why would they take this kid who is on a GOOD road headed for AMAZING places and make fun of him and try to offend him? Its so stupid. All it does is ruin lives. Clearly, this one incident isn't going to ruin David's future/career. But I think its REALLY REALLY pathetic and sad that they feel the need to do that whenever someone with a possible future comes along.

I'm new when it comes to performing, but I can say that everytime you work on something, you're supposed to be discovering it all over again. There's plenty of songs that I've heard and sung a bazillion times in the past, and now that I have a teacher to really work on them with, its like completley new material. I don't really know what I'm talking about when it comes to performing, but I have an idea of what goes into it, and the people who run those trash sites have no right to judge on things like that.

In the past, when the person I was voting for got voted off, I'd just stop voting.

I asked that question earlier in the thread, and only about two people responded that in the past they had tried to vote, but lines were always busy so they don't even try. This is the "unofficial" voting site.

i don't call in and vote. seems like too much of an effort is the lines are always busy. lol

I have AT&T, so I text my votes in. I only vote once for David A and Jason.
