Anyone have a Shark Steam Mop? Post Here! Sooooo....after doing some reviews, I have decided that we need this! If you have one...will you list what you like about it and what you do not like about it.... How does it do on wood, laminate wood and tile floors? Is the cord long enough? How often do you have to fill and empty the water tank? Does it leave streaks? Does it really clean good? Does it leave the floor wet? Does it get in corners and along the baseboards good? Are the washable pads good? - how many times have you washed yours? - and are they still holding up okay? Sorry for all the questions....but thought I would get some honest reveiws here! THANKS!!! |
Oh I have been wanting one of these too so I will be watching this post too Jenn. :D  |
Me too, me too! I keep debating on it- can't wait to hear what everyone says. |
There was another one --the H2O Steam Mop -- and I liked how the head of it was angled, but the majority of the reviews on it were not good at all. And you had to special order everything...whereas w/ the Shark, you can find it at Target, Wal-Mart, etc. I know there are people here who have it....so I hope they see this thread later today! |
I have one! I love it. I have a pergo floor (laminate) in the kitchen. It states is safe for this floor but I was hestiate to be honest. It ise fine. My dinning room, hall and foyer are marble and of course it works wonderful on that. Bathrooms are ceremic so it's great there as well. THe steam that comes out is very hot so the floor dries almost immediately. I have no streaks on any of these different floors. It may feel a little sticky at first but once completely dry that feeling is gone. I think it's one of the best gadgits I have purchased in years. |
I know a bunch of people that have the shark rechargable vaccum and they swear by it! I have the mini shakr power steamer cleaner thing and I like it! I would love to try this new steamer! I hope it gets more good reviews! |
I have one and I love love LOVE it! Pros: - it doesn't leave a sticky film on the laminate flooring we have in this house - it actually works just as good as it shows in the infomercial - its lightweight even with the water in it - it has a long cord so I don't have to keep unplugging/replugging Cons: - it only came with two washable cleaning pads. No biggy though, I just ordered more from their site. This ENTIRE house is laminate/tile so two pads just didn't cut it. - my GaGa loves it and keeps trying to steal it everytime she comes over :p |
I have one that I use on my laminate floor. I love it. I agree about needing more than 2 pads though...I think I will go order some more now! |
ok, I have 24 inch tiles that have the rough/uneven finish and dirt gets trapped in the lower dips and pits, will this get in those hard to reach places??? I have wanted something that will help get these floors clean once and for all... I don't want to have to call a profesh every three months to do it! Also... does it work on grout? (sp?) Mine is lighter... In some places  lol Not so much anymoye.. this desert dust is awful! If it tackles those two areas well and is easy to use... I'm sold! Oh, and do you have to go painstakingly slow?? ot can you do your floors in a reasonable amount of time? |

It's like using a vacumm. The only wood floor so far that I know of that it does not work on is Parkey. (s) My girlfriend got one and took it back. It would not move on her floors and the white pad stuck to pieces of the wood. It works on my marble and tile. All of which have grout. |
I want one of these Steam Mops sooo bad!! I almost bought one the other day, but I decided not to because I really haven't read any reviews on which brand is better. I am going to read up on them in this thread though, and later tonight on the internet...I want one so bad! |
We have one and love it too. We had another model of a steamer and it left the floors very wet and I didn't feel like it cleaned at all. With the Shark, the floors are dry almost immediately. There is a ton of steam that comes out and, yes, it does clean the grout pretty well, too. We have ceramic tile in the kitchen, pergo flooring throughout the living room and two bedrooms and laminate flooring in the bathrooms. The cord would be a little longer and definitely get some extra pads. I wash mine after every use, and I use two of them when I use it and they look great. |
Haan Steam mop from QVC I ordered the Haan steam mop from QVC about a week ago.I just sent it back today. All my floors are laminate and it left a film over my them,:thumbdown . So I guess Im back to vinegar an water and the sweeper mop. |
Thanks everyone! I wonder if the stores that sell the Shark Steam Mop also carries the extra pads? I have seen the mop and Wal-Mart, Target and Bed, Bath and Beyond....I may have to do a search to see if you can get them there too...that would be great! |
I got one for my daughter for Christmas. She just got the wood laminate floors and she loves it. I bought myself one about 6 weeks ago and I don't know how I ever lived without it. I use it in the kitchen, entry way, bathrooms, basement, and can't wait to try it in the sunroom, which is ceramic tile. I am so thrilled with that handy little gadget. I love the steam smell too...just smells so clean! I think you'll have to get yourself one...you'll never regret it a day in your life! One more thing...they're so quiet...all you hear is the steam! |
