An advertisement at the top of the page about 2 seconds ago said "amish puppies for sale" What is that? any idea??? Are they just plain dogs? :p :D

they're probably from amish puppy mills - some of the most notorious mills in the country.

EXACTLY ! Amish consider dogs livestock - nothing more than cattle - to be bought and sold the same way you see cows on auction. They don't feel they should have any luxury or comfort - they are just livestock. I don't know anything about that particular one - except to see LOTS of listings - all sorts of breeds... and that can't be good.

When you see AMISH - it's a sad place those dogs are in - I know I'm generalizing but a MILL is a MILL no matter what name they put on it - if it involves mass breeding - its a mill.

I was surprised to see it here but kept my feelings to myself. I'm glad you asked - cause it's bothered me seeing it.

Yup, I agree, probably puppy mills. I live about 1/2 hour from Lancaster Co, PA and there are always articles in the paper and on TV about the Amish puppy mills being raided. SO SAD!! Stay away from those!!

No cars, no plumbing, no electricity, no cameras, no music, no dancing. NO FUN!!!

No wonder they have the highest suicide rate per capita in the country. I can't imagine how the animals must live!! I know there is a lot to be said about getting back to simpler times, but I want my Charmin, thank you very much!

prob a really bad place for dogs! went to an amish place in phili on a school trip. it was sooo funny!! ahhh good memories, goood memories! (not of the amish people! of philli! the amish smelled like cow manure! also not the hotel either ....ill give u a heads up bout hotels ...dont go to the Days Inn

Dude! I clicked on it to see exactly what it was.....and it SCREAMED 'puppy mill' to me too! Gosh I thought, surely not, but all those breeds.....eeesh, that's so sad.
