LMAO!! Okay, I just read this after the "mouth sex" post! LOL!! Kim- when they say "get some children" it sounds like they're the item of the week at Target! LOL! |
Teeth Gritted Down To Nubs Take a deep breath. Soon grandma will be gone (in more ways than one). I have a 81 year old dad. He drives me up the wall and onto the roof. He thinks he is still capable of making decisions. Doesn't matter how many times I try to explain things to him, I'm still an idiot. I have gritted my teeth so much, I will be on baby food soon. I have to keep reminding myself, that I too will be like that some day. Hopefully my kids will shoot me before then. |
My grandma is SO cool. She just turned 82 years old and she STILL acts like a young girl. I love it! She and I are so close. It's funny when we go shopping because she'll always grab short skirts and tell me to buy them or if we go into Victoria's Secret, she will grab thongs and leopard print panties and tell me to get them instead of cotton ones. She's too much!! |
She's GONE! :D I know I sound like such a witch, but you would understand if you were in my position. |
I understand Kristy! I love my family to pieces but I can only tolerate so much. You should relax and enjoy the quiet ;) |
Wow such extreme questions...It is kinda funny though...Just hang in there Kristy she is just visiting ;) You'll get through it....One comment that I hate the most from older family memebers is, "Gosh you were such an ugly kid, You're so beautiful now" I just don't know how to take that... I guess it's an insult/compliment or the other way around I just can't decide... |
My g-ma, rest her sweet soul... Quote:
I still use that one and laugh every time I do. She had a million of 'em.!! |
Lissen up, you young whippersnappers!!!! LOL I lived with my granny who was in wheelchair when I was a kid and I still use some of her phrases. I am a 67+ y.o. grandmother and I can tell you that this "making me crazy" thingy works both ways. My grandkids, especially the two girls who are leaving for colleges out of state, take my shoes and jewelry all the time. I have had to promise them I will visit. They invite me to their "occasions!" I am not bragging about myself, but the tolerance level of them. LOL Grandkids, YA GOTTA LUV EM!!! I keep remembering that "but for the grace of God (and a few more years) go I"... |
4 Attachment(s) This thread is making me miss my papa so much!!! In the end he was so frail and little. I found these and wanted to share them. This is my papa how I remembered him. Loved his beer! Loved to dance, a picture of him and I shaking a leg when I was 18,,, He never missed an event of my life. Me and papa when I graduated from high school. The love didn't stop there. I grew up and he had even more babies to love. becides my 3, he had 17 grategrand babies and 3 grate grategrand babies. and he loved them all. He and my son had a special bond,,, which they all did, but it was more so with my son. I miss you papa!!! |
my grandma was so cool. i loved her. she would give me ANYTHING i wanted! she died over 3 years ago but there are those little things i'll always remember. like she died on thanksgiving morning during her favorite thing in the world (besides me) the parade. the last day i saw her, the day before she died, i will never be able to not get that picture in my mind. she was so sick and could barley talk. the only thing that kept me going is knowing that now she's not in pain any more. |

My mom was always saying stupid stuff! I had a demonstration (partylight or pampered chef or something) at my house and we played "how well do you know the hostess" They had to guess my answers to questions like my favorite food, favorite color, last vacation, etc. Well we were roaring because my mother got every one of them wrong. Finally we get to the question what is Teri's birthdate? I said "finally, she'll get one right" and she says August 14th (my sister Joan's) and I said "MOM that is JOAN's birthday" and all she said was "OH, is it?" I swear she was a panic. She passed away 3 1/2 years ago, and we still make fun of her! |
I know it is gets on your nerves now but one day you will with she could ask you a weird question just one more time.... |
I have been so lucky to know both sets of my grandparents, I also have a step grandmother (who is a reeally fun person and a Yorkie lover) and I had a greatgrandmother too.. I am very close to my mothers parents... I love those too so much.. I try to see them 1 time a week if possible... I take my grandpa to lunch and watch baseball games with him (even though he likes the Mets) and my grandma and I go to AC Moore and TJ MAXX together and just have a fun time talking and watching 7th Heaven...My dad's mom was very sick for her entire life and died when I was 17.. My dad's father and his wife lived up the street from me so i saw them alot (they have Ruby, the silky Mocha loved to play with).. I know they can be annoying at times but we still have to love them and be greatful that we have them or had them in our lives |
