Solider Video I was watching CNN today and they showed an American solider throwing a puppy off a cliff in Iraqi or somewhere like that. Has anyone else seen this horrific video?? If you have not I do NOT recommend watching it. I am so pissed ! I want to throw him off a cliff. They said he is getting death threats. Good for him-bastard |
doctored I would believe the film was doctored before I would believe it is real. My husband is army and we know A LOT of deployed guys. They love having dogs over there... it makes them feel more at home. Unless maybe this guy was trying to get a "nutso" discharge... which could be it.... otherwise...why tape it and who taped it ... they are just as responsible. hmmmmm |
I've read this in the paper but I havent watched the video and don't plan to. I can't deal with that stuff. I'm still waiting to find out if it's real or not. Supposedly the soldier doesn't live too far from me, hopefully this thing with the threats towards him doesn't get too out of hand. |
Mascot My husband has been stationed in Iraq several times... he said the poor dogs over there are in very bad shape, but that still doesn't dignify what that guy did... what a horrible thing. I feel bad for the dogs over there, poor things.... I also have heard of many soldiers taking in some starving pets over there. It's a very bad situation.:( Dot |

Sicko!!! His family must be so proud. |
It was a US Marine...it was not a doctored video. He was stationed out of kaneohe Bay Hawaii. Here is the news article and the Marine's PR depts. reply to the public. WARNING.....THERE IS A LINK TO THE VIDEO....but it will NOT play if you don't click directly over the video link....the following is purely the news article. http://www.kitv.com/news/15482127/detail.html |
I saw it! Quote:

I just found this.... There was a link on the Youtube video to a website www.puppytoss.com! It only has the video and a picture of the Marine with his full name! Someone should pick him up by the neck and throw him off a cliff!!   |
That is despicable. I am too afraid to watch the video though. I'll get too upset. :( |
Mascot I think we all know there are many Marines that are over there doing their jobs.... let's not get off the subject of how horrific the act of this Marine or few Marine's was... it has nothing to do with why are we over there, that becomes a political debate that nobody wants to get into on YT.....;) Dot |

Mascot Yes, I am definetely ot excusing his crime... he did a crime he should be punished!!!!! :thumbdown I just didn't want it to become a military issue rather then an issue of a mean person, because there are many men who serve proudly and with dignity..... (ok, my husband is a soldier) and I am partial to the military.... and my husband LOVES animals, he was also upset over this story!!!!! I just think we should focus on this "man's" actions... not his employment position. |
 Perfectly stated! If my husband were to see this video, he also would be very upset over it! He too is an animal lover and a soldier... (I may be partial to the military as well.) |

I totally understand ;) My husband was a Marine and was brought back up to active duty at the beginning of the war...and I myself am active duty. :) Wasnt trying to turn it into a debate....thank you for helping me correct myself. |
Turns my stomache.. |
Mascot I am sorry if it sounded like I was aiming that at you, because I most definetely was not.... It isn't in my personality to make conflict, How do you like Japan? My husband and I may be stationed there one day.... it is coming down to a few differnet spots in September and Washington is one of them which has an attachment of Japan. I think I would have a good time there... I hear the beaches are to die for.... Thank you for responding but there really was no underlying message for you, I promise! ;) Dot PS I also appreciate that the link you posted didnt have the actual act of the crime in it... that showed me right off the back that you put thought into what you are posting.... Thank you. |
^^^I didnt take it like you were aiming it at me :) I just realized that I may have come across that way ;) Japan is great, but there are SO many restrictions on service members....If you can the Tokyo area is great, the only thing is the quarantine laws have changed for pets Zama Vet They should be able to give you more direction for when you head out here with Mascot. Also, The link my hubby actually sent me, because he knew I would have flipped seeing the video, but wanted me to be able to read what had happened and what K-Bay HQ were doing about it. :) Thanks again!!! :D Lisa |
Here is the article from today's local paper. I feel so bad for his family. http://www.heraldnet.com/article/200...lash.is.fierce |
OMG, I shouldn't have watched the video. The news article said that there is still talk that the puppy isn't real. If it is, then he's a horrible person. Period. |
I heard about it but def. do not want to see it, i will cry if i see it! And am so mad if this is real! :( Poor puppy! I hope he pays for it:thumbdown |
He needs to be punished and made an example of..serving ones country does NOT mean you can act like that...its the same situation with Iraqi prisoners being treated badly imo...give respect, get respect.. |
If that's true, it's horrible. But isn't it sad that the only things the press likes to show us are the bad things. When's the last time you saw the good that's going on over there? When it was bad over there we had daily reports of it but now, with things going well over there we hear nothing. The silence lately has been deafening. Oh but wait, finally there's something bad to report! Don't get me wrong, I think this act with the puppy is horrible and I'm not saying it shouldn't be reported. I just would like to finally see some of the good things reported too. The bias of the main stream press is deplorable. There are good and bad in every walk of life, including unfortunately even in our military. But most are good:) |
Mascot I guess i just took a different spin on it.... I see it as he was a bad person that did a bad thing, I didnt take it as just becasue he was a "military" person he thought he was above the law... but maybe he thought he was untouchable in Iraq in that uniform... I see what your saying. It was a terrible situation and I hope he is punished to a severe extent. I can't believe what he did to the poor baby, and I hate that he disrespected the US Military because the great mean and women in uniform constantly have to defend themselves for the small amout of idiots.... :( Dot Great post Tammyh!!!!!! |
When I watched the video (without sound...for some reason hearing it makes it harder for me than just watching it), I didn't really think it was a real puppy. I mean, I've never picked a puppy up by the scruff like that, but I would expect it to do something...anything...not just hang there. Unless that's what they do. Maybe its just wishful thinking my part...hoping that no one could actually do that. Either way, even PRETENDING is sick and this man needs to be put away before he does it again (or before he does it for real, depending on what is actually happening in the video). |
