Toddler falls... Yesterday my nieces son fell out of the window of her 3rd floor apartment. He will be 3 next month. They were on the news tonight. At the hospital, all the drs and nurses were amazed and said he was a little miracle boy because nothing happened to him except a little scratch on his belly. Where he fell there was only about an inch of snow and there were rocks under that. He was wearing his superman jammies and the news reporters joked that maybe he was trying to fly out the window. :D Child protection told the mom that it was not her fault. The management said she should watch her kids more carefully. In my opinion, the darn screens shouldn't be able to just be pushed out by a little kid.:thumbdown |
oh how fortunate he did not get hurt. I am happy to hear that. Perhaps they should put on those safety bars? It is a law here. He truly is a "miracle"> Love the Superman jammies remark! |
PTL that he is okay! That is amazing! Something will have to be done to secure that screen! I'm so glad he's alive and well. Bless his little heart! |
omg thank God he's ok |
I heard on the news when they did the report that in new construction the screens have to be the type that will not be able to be pushed out. There is no law about current buildings though.:thumbdown Apartment management doesn't have to do anything for safety on their buildings already standing. Seems kind of odd to me. I have heard of several kids around this area falling - wouldn't you think something would be done???? |
Thank God he is fine. |
OMG:eek: Thank God that he's okay, what a scare:cry:! I think that the building management needs to look into making those screens more childproof. That's crazy that he could just push on it like that and it let him fall. Could have been very very tragic:( |
I'm glad he's ok!!!! what a scare that must been! I liked the superman jammies comment :) , but thanks GOd nothing bad happened!!!!! |
Oh my goodness! Thank God he is okay! That is a LONG fall! |
oh thank god he is ok!!! It is my fear that my girls will try to climb to our windows and we are on the 2nd floor. Again, so glad he is ok! |
Oh my gosh! Thank God he is OK. |
Oh my word.....3rd floor!!!!! That is amazing that he was not hurt!!! My heart is racing just thinking about it. My little boy lived in his Superman PJ's until he was about 8 years old. I had to watch him so closely ...he honestly thought he was Superman and that he could fly!! I am so thankful that your nieces son is OK!!! Poor little guy!!! |
oh my thank God he's ok. |
OMG!!! How frightening!!!! Thank GOD he was not injured! Angels were definitely working overtime!!! |
OH wow... Im so glad hes ok! That is SCARY! You cannot possibly watch your child every second of every day! Things just happen that you cannot prevent! :( Im glad hes ok though! |
Thats the work of God... I am so happy he is ok.. Someone better fix that screen!! |
Yep, I agree God was watching over him. It makes me mad that the management doesn't take any responsibility for making it safer.:thumbdown There are a lot of little kids that live there. |
Praise God that he wasn't hurt! How does this little one explain what happened to him? Sounds like there needs to be better protection for the windows |
Teri, that must have been terrifying for the little guy and his parents! TG he's okay!!! |
Wow, glad he is OK. Poor little thing - probably scared the Super right out of his jammies! When my daughter was 12 mo. we were moving and I was packing up the bedroom. She walked over to the window which went all the way to the floor. She pushed on the screen and out it went. She stood there and talked to the neighbor lady. She didn't fall but my neighbor Betty was standing there ready to catch her if she did. I was compeltely oblivious! Bad mommy - thank God He had someone right where they needed to be to keep her safe until I noticed. |
Oh my gosh! I am so glad he is okay! That is so scary  |
I'm glad he's O.K! |
My daughter has the bars on her window (4 y/o and baby on the way) and they are easy to install and not unsightly at all. Thank God that baby is ok. Such a miracle! Must have been the PJs. :) |
thank god he ok! |
Maybe Superman was his guardian angel that day. Thank heavens he's ok. I can't imagine the terror in the Mother of that boy when she realized what happened. I am so happy this story has a happy ending. |
How scarey is that!   Sure glad all he had was a scratch. He could have been really hurt. Glad he is ok! |
I'm sooooo glad to hear he's okay... omg, how terrifying? I know it's not my business, but how did he fall out of that window? I know a lot of things can happen in a split second. His angels must have been with him :). |

Thank GOD he is ok! My son was under two yrs and standing in the kitchen on a second level floor RIGHT by us and my Mom had the window open, we never thought about the screen could be pushed out..........well, my son pushed with his little hands and out he was, my step dad reached out and grabbed him...........there was nothing but, hard, hot concreat under us. I will never open a window around kids again. Angie |
Well, sounds like his Guardian Angel caught him and carried him safely to the ground. Thank God! |
