How to disable a STOLEN mobile phone. How to disable a STOLEN mobile phone. To check your Mobile phone's serial number, key in the following digits on your phone: * # 0 6 # A 15 digit code will appear on the screen. This number is unique to your handset. Write it down and keep it somewhere safe. Should your phone get stolen, you can phone your service provider and give them this code. They will then be able to block your handset so even if the thief changes the SIM card, your phone will be totally useless. You probably won't get your phone back, but at least you know that whoever stole it can't use/sell it either. If everybody does this, there would be no point in people stealing mobile phones. I hope you find this information useful. |
That is great information, thanks for sharing! |
Thanks for posting!! It's bad enough that they can use your minutes until you report it stolen, but I really hate the fact that they have your whole address book!! I looked it up to see if it works on all mobile phones. Sounds like it works on some (but it was sort of techy and I wasn't sure if mine fit the bill). Here's some more detailed info on it if someone can decipher better than me. http://www.snopes.com/crime/prevent/celltheft.asp |
Thanks. I copied and pasted to save. Joanne :aimeeyork :aimeeyork :aimeeyork :dog: |
I copied and pasted it also, hope I never have to use it. I have more than 5K minutes saved on my phone so a thief can really have a go at it before I report the phone missing. Good info though. Thanks Quote:
