Admin has already said no:( We will just have to be on the look out.. for new members. |
that was sad to hear. :( I really don't understand why we can't have an introduction forum. I know that people will get to know others by posting in general, off topic, etc., but people need to be welcomed! |

I agree, I'm a recent member, joined last week, and if my post was never responded to, I would have prob. left to find another, but bookmarked this place for searches etc. But not sure if I would have continued posting :) not because I wouldn't want to, just because I'd feel a bit left out of the loop. But hell I've been refreshing "new posts" for 3 days now posting like crazy, I can't seem to stop!! :) |
I guess this isn't a general discussion problem only. I just answered a question in health and diet with zero posts from December. This was a newer person also.:( It's a post I would've probably answered if I saw it sooner. Things get lost so easily here. YorkieTalk is SO big... |
What I've never understood is why there are so few people with moderating powers on this forum. I'm a moderator on another forum (a forum with about the same # of members, very active) and there are TWO moderators PER section!! There are 2 Admins who have the ability to do everything - and then each moderator is given the ability, within their section only, to: moderate, edit, delete, lock, move threads to another section (but can't "import threads), make stickies etcetera. THey cannot do anything in any other section. I just think it would make the General section alot more manageable if things were moved more often to their appropriate sections - and it is probably too much for the current team to handle bc there is just so much else to do as well. It seems it might be helpful if there were more poeple available to manage the traffic and reinforce the use of the proper sections. That's what I see on other forums. Just my 2 cents. |
I belong to a group that has a button that says "view unanswered posts". I think that would be a great idea to have! Yes? :) |
The other problem is how everyone posts about absolutely everything in General Discussion, rather than in specific Forums, the food questions, grooming questions, off-topic, etc stuff that gets posted in the General forum, pushes good threads back. One thing I try to do so, I don't miss too many threads, is that after hitting new posts, I then go to the last page, which is only page 10, and then work my way up to page 1, don't always make it, but often, I find threads that no one or only one person has responded to |

First, I want to say that I think the moderators here do an excellent job of keeping YT friendly and relatively peaceful.:) Now I think this is a great idea. Four moderators for such a large site is not many. I was looking at 0 post threads again and found three threads started by someone. Two of the threads had 0 responses and one of the threads had 1 response. It seems like quite a few people here are watching for posts with zero replies and we are still missing them. |

There have been plenty of threads about "seasoned veterans" feeling like thread killers - it'd be horrible for a new member!! :( |
