Wait until you read what my neighbor just did!  :( OMG...........I am so angry and upset at the same time. I just put Blaze outside to go to the bathroom. I went to the kitchen sink to wash my coffee pot. I run upstairs to get Autumn to put her out w/her brother and my doorbell rings. Its my next door neighbor holding Blaze in his hands. Im annoyed right off the bat because I just knew he did not get out of the yard. It is completely fenced. So I figured he opened the gate and took him out. Oh no, that would of been to easy...........The jerk called Blaze over to the fence (we have a chain link fence that runs between the two yards)and of course being a friendly happy puppy Blaze went willingly and lifted the chain link out of the ground and pulled him under the fence into his yard! He was going to bring him into his house and keep him in there for a a couple of minutes to see how paranoid I would get! But being that his wife and I are friends and our sons and daughters are all best friends she told him not to do that because I would never speak to him again! Can you believe he would be so ****ing stupid! I am so upset/angry w/him. So now I have to worry that Blaze will try to wiggle his way under the fence since he has now been shown how this works. Dogs arent stupid - what the heck was he thinking (obviously he wasn't)! He is a really good guy and would do anything for anyone in my family but he is the type that sometimes thinks he is funny when he is not........and this would be one of those times! I called hubby (who was headed out car shopping) and he was pissed beyond belief. He is now headed to Home Depot to get some wood to put up against the fence so even if Blaze did try to dig he would not be able to get out. Im sorry for rambling.......I just cant believe this! Thanks again for listening Amie |
Your right, some people don't think! I would certainly talk to him and tell him that Yorkies are stolen so often that it's really not funny the trick he wanted to play on you. I guess you have to try and be calm because of the ties you have with this family but I'll be honest and say if he ever tried it again I would really end the friendship because he did not consider your feelings the second time around. I am sure he will though especially if your hubby had that talk with him. Man to man so to speak. Good luck, |

Im sure you wont think it was so funny anymore! |
WOW, I would be  To, Maybe you should talk to his wife, Being as your friends and all, tell her that was just so uncalled for...hope you works things out. |
What a terrible thing to do. That was just really dumb of him, you have every right to be upset. I sure would be too. Your rights dogs are not stupid, especially these little yorkies-- they are so smart. I hope everything works out! |
WOW! Unbelievable! Despite the fact your neighbor may have thought this would have been "fun" - it isn't!!! As you said, yorkies are taken on a daily basis from their families - sometimes returned, sometimes not. This is no joking matter. And to have raised the fence - yep, Blaze could figure that out next time and get out on his own. Glad your husband is getting materials to fix things up. I'd definitely let your neighbor know how you feel about it. |
yeah you are right, that was a REALLY stupid thing for your neighbor to do! Although it does go to show you how easily someone (with no good intentions) could get blaze out of your yard w/o you even knowing! Id be upset with him but Id also now take caution when letting the fur butts out unattended. :) |
I dont blame you for being mad. I would be pi$$ed if my neighbor did that. Thats just teaching Blaze how to get out of your yard |
I understand why you're so upset and rightly so. Since they are friends of the family and it sounds like he didn't do it maliciously but was trying to be funny (yes, I know, not so funny:thumbdown ) maybe just explain to him and his wife why it upset you so much and the fact that now you have to worry about your baby trying to dig under the fence and that he's to never do that again. Hopefully he'll understand and maybe learn to think before he does something like that again. I'm sure when his wife see's how upset you are she'll be sure to "keep him in line" in the future. If the friendship is important to you and he's sorry for what he did, you'll be able to forgive him and get past it. Good luck! |
ggrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr, how ridiculous is that? |
Well that just means now you have to be out there while they are out there the entire time. |

What an a**! wow i would have been pissed:thumbdown |
His response to me when he say how upset It made we was "Wow, I never knew you were so sensitive"...........sensitive.......is he kidding me! I told him the only thing worse he could of done was mess w/my human kids. And there thinking of getting a dog..............hope he never needs a dog sitter because I shant be doing it!!! Hubby called a couple of minutes ago - he is really pi**ed off, and he does not got mad hardly ever! |
That guy is a 1st class moron.....what an idiot. |
I have no idea why your neighbor thought that would be cute or funny to do. Sometimes I don't think that people use half the brains god gave them. |
That took nerve...wow how ignorant is that! Some people just don't care about others...Tis a shame..... |
I agree with everyone else, but, your puppy should NOT be out by himself..there have been hawks that have picked these pups up and taken off with them before..Mine is now almost 7 mos old, and I let her and the other 3 little ones out to play in the back fenced in yard when it's nice out..they are NEVER out there(even there is no way for them to get out) without my hubby or me being right there. |
 :thumbdown What a total moron!! I don't blame you...I would have been p***** too! Some people are just clueless...he's an idiot and I hope your husband lets him know he'd better not ever do anything like that again!! Friend or no friend! In addition to trying to scare you, and teaching your baby that he can go under the fence, he could have really hurt your baby on the bottom of the fence. Did he ever think of that? |
I would be so mad. I don't think Yorkies should ever be let outside alone though. It is way too dangerous, even if it's just for a few minutes. |
what an ahole!!!! you'd think... there's a fence there for A REASON!!!! I hope Blaze doesn't try to wiggle out... I would really have a talk with your neighbor and tell him that yorkies get stolen way too often... if he doesn't understand that... then he's not a friend (or good neighbor)... He should be keeping an eye out for your babies while they're out there.. not taking them from you to see how badly you're going to panic:thumbdown Good Luck!! |
What an idiot!!! If you have a chain link fence do this: I had my yard fenced in and between the posts, I had the installer take rebar and bend one end into a hook. Then, he hooked it around the bottom of the fence and drove it into the ground. I have 3 between each fence post all the way around my yard and my babies can't dig out. |
What an idiot!! I try not to get too friendly with my neighbours. They get brave and start doing things like painting OUR side of the fence to match theirs without asking. |
Tammyh-----:goodpost: When I don't take time to think something through it always comes back to haunt me. Joanne :aimeeyork :aimeeyork :aimeeyork :dog: |
 I would be furious!!!! |

Some people are totally "not with it". |
I'm really sorry this happened to you! Kinda reminds me of one of our x-neighbors! We have horses and a very nice fence around the pasture, the horses could never get out of the fence, but I'll be darned if the neighbors teenaged kids did not go into the fence with 9 horses in the pasture!!! So, my dh put up an electric fence to keep the kiddos (weirdos) out! My kids did laugh one afternoon when one of the neighbors got "shocked". (It is some kind of dog shock, so it really is not that powerful.) I hope your babies stay safe! |
