You think your money is safe in the bank...HA So I check my account daily and missed one day come to find out Chase bank pulled over $3,000 out of my account:eek: To make a long story short, I paid a bill for my best friend, this was over 6 months ago. They logged MY banking information and used it when she decided to pay off her credit card. This is such a mess, my husband and I are supposed to be buying a truck and going on a mini vaca on Friday and all this happens. I cannot believe it. So out of everything I have learned is it not to allow any bank or place/business to store your bank account information (even though I didn't allow Chase bank to do so they did it!) And how Sh*ty my bank security is to not alert me or call me to make sure this was a valid transaction that I made:mad: Looks like I'll be changing my bank ASAP. |
They are all the same unless you go with a small credit union, and then you don't get all the nifty features like online bill pay. We've switched banks multiple times because of problems and we just have more problems. You have to watch them SO closely. You seriously have to log in EVERY day to make sure things are right. I had BOA once not credit a deposit. It just never showed up as pending or cleared. I went to my local bank and they couldn't even help me - I had to go to the bank that I made the deposit at. Luckily I had my deposit ticket or they said they could not have helped me. The girl was there that MADE the deposit and no apology or explanation. I overheard them saying the wrong state code was entered and it just got lost in cyberspace. Then they got mad when I stood to the side and logged in on my iPhone to make sure it had been credited to me account. They were whispering to each other "she doesn't believe us she has to check it on her phone!" WOW. :thumbdown |
I'm also in AZ and have had the same thing happen to us but with a different bank. I called and disputed the money taken, it was investigated and returned to my account with in a few days. So, are they unwilling to help you? And if they aren't going to help you this obviously benefited your friend once again so what's she saying? |

I've had BOA and they SUCK! I HATE THEM WITH A PASSION! GAR I have Wachovia now and their not any better! BOA caused a lot of grief to me and my mom when my dad passed just with life insurance, his money and accounts they were a**holes. |
Dang:eek: I hope things get taken care of...we have a small town bank and LOVE LOVE LOVE it!!! |
You think that's bad. One time at work we had an employee change her bank account info. Instead of changing her depository info, the payroll company changed ours so that our entire payroll came out of her account. It was like $30,000. The big problem was not so much her account because we reimburse her any expenses but, our biggest problem was that all the employee's checks were bouncing since she didn't have that kind of money in her account (who would). What a mess!! Thankfully, we caught it early on or it could've been a lot worse. That stinks that it will take that long for them to correct it. It should be immediate in my opinion. |
You have to watch them like hawks. I check my account every day. I don't allow any storage of my account information where I shop for thing. The only place I store is my mortgage bank. I make sure that I have it set where it's not an auto payment or that can run you into trouble. When I pay them I make sure to select one time pament only. Sorry that happened to you. |
