alright people, LQQK! hi, i'm 21, taking a semester off from college (too much stress), and am late. i took 2 preg tests and they both came back neg, but i've gained a lil weight (very noticable cuz i'm only 105), my period is never late (almost a week late now), and have had really bad pains (not period cramping tho) is there any way the test can be wrong? i did drink a glass of water before i took it (could i have diluted my pee?) ugh!!!! i'm not ready to have a kid and am freaking out like mad style (wayyyy too much stress in my life) what other symptoms do you have the first couple weeks? any advice? HELP!!! ahhhh!!!!!! |
I'd say, dont freak..give it another week.. Since you've been "stressed", it can get weird on you. If you were preggers, it should have came back positive. Water doesnt "dilute"/change the results. Try taking a different brand if you know for sure you slipped up. Good luck. |
I've been late a few times to and freaked out. Its always (in my case) been due to stress! Stress can also make you gain weight, even if you are eating like you normally do. |
thats the thing, i've been stressed for months now (6+ nonstop) i took the test really late at night and it said not to drink h2o b4, but i drank b4 i went to go pick it up and couldn't wait anymore (that was 2 days ago btw) ugh.... |
Awww, sweetie, seriously relax. Two tests aren't wrong so you're in the clear. |
I think I read somewhere once that the ideal time to take the test is right after you wake up...I guess because your urine should be pretty concentrated in the morning. You should go buy another test and take it as soon as you wake up in the morning...or maybe make an appointment with your doctor. I'm sorry you are so stressed |
I agree...take the test first thing in the morning. Also, a few months back we had a scare because I was late and I'm never late either. It must of just been stress because a couple days later I did start. |
I agree with them, take another one when you get up in the A.M. Try to settle down and relax, Stress is the # 1 killer of woman, I think? I'll say a prayer for you. Kathy |
thanks everyone, i'm gonna run to the store first thing in the am and hold it until i take it. i'm just scared cuz i know i would get an abortion (don't hate on me, i just don't have the mind set to have a child right now/go through pregnancy aka very depressed and need to focus on me) and my man decided it would be best to show me youtubes of aborted babies and how they do abortions (extremely gross and graffic) it made me sick to my stomach and i just don't want to have to go through that. any other help/advice would be greatly appreciated <3 all you guys! |
Take deep breaths and try to sleep. If you cannot "hold it" until you get to the store in the morning, then buy the kit and do the test the next day. Don't you have 24 hour supermarkets where you live? Maybe you want to go out now and get the kit? As a resident, I see a lot of girls who worry themselves sick about missing their period, only to find out that it was stress related. My thoughts are with you. |
I hope your not pregnant, especially if your already planning on aborting, but like the others said, just take the test first thing in the AM. |
There are videos of abortions on youtube? |
Well see the DR. and do a Bloodtest. I had kinda the same thing happening. I thought for shure I was preggo and bought a test. Well that said I am not pregnat ... but I felt kinda wired and I knew something was going on with me. 2 weeks later I went to the DR. and .... I was 5 weeks preggo. |

If you take a test with your first morning urine, as the other posters said, you'll know for sure. If it's negative, and you're already 2 weeks late, you're not pregnant. If there is even a faint line in the test line (NOT the control line), you are pregnant. If you're still unsure, or you get inconclusive results, head to the doctor and get a blood test-the blood test is much more accurate than a urine test, and then you'll know for sure. Try to relax-it's not uncommon for women to have a cycle or two each year that we either don't ovulate, which can delay a period, or sometimes even those of us that are really regular can spontaneously miss a period due to stress, illness, or for unknown reasons. If you find out you're not pregnant, and your period doesn't return on the next cycle, see your doctor. Best wishes to you-let us know how you're doing. |
