There are just too many people that have never experienced the unconditional love of a pet. Sad for them. I spent a lot of money on my shih that needed surgery. Would I do it again...yes. I had someone tell me that I could have taken a nice vacation with the $5k. Yes I could but it would hurt me to no avail to know that I didn't do every thing in my power to help Hobbs. |

We can't change the world and unfortunatly that's how many people see their animals - The dogs who are truly loved and taken care of are the lucky ones and so are we to be blessed with having them - but we can't expect everyone to understand how we feel. |

people suck people who have never been in that situation should just offer a sholder to cry on and support sometimes it's just too hard to put up a fight and try to justify your reasons, it can be exhausting, but hang in there, you can get through this. (<hugs>) |

Please don't let these people bother you.I spent the last 5 months of Grizzley Bear's life catering to his every need.Just like a Mother and father would do for thier child.I took him to the vet 6 times in his last 3 months alone.Making sure he was comfortable. I made a makeshift matress up and slept in the room that he was comfortable in. I got no sleep hardly at all!I lived my life for 12 years around him and would not change a thing. He had arthritis.Could barely hear and see.The comments I heard lost me faith in people. His Uncle told me that I should do something about that in August. MY reply was what are you getting at.He said to put him to sleep.Boy..my heart was broken even more... that was hard to take.. but I told his Uncle "get your own DOG"!!He stopped and realized that he went to far and I respected him for that. He was with me the day Grizzley Bear crossed over to Rainbow Bridge. He was so upset.I comforted him.Sometimes you pick and choose you battles and I honestley think I stood my ground with his Uncle. As for all rest the people. They can take a hike!!! I agree I earn my own money and I can spend it the way I want too!!!I would of given my life to that dog and believe me he has part of it with him and HEAVEN now! His Uncle sees that .. so vividly!!!! That's why I am so glad I found YT for we all agree .IT'S ABOUT THE BABIES!!!!Wonderful people here! Hugs to all of you, Mary |

Hi, you know I was heart broken, when someone suggested to me to find Jazzie a new owner since the surgery to correct her lp is expensive, your sister topped that pain!! What I have learned though is that people will say things like that but when it actually happens to their pup, its a different story. Take for instance my boss who is a Great person all around, his wife was taking their dog to the vet because it was sick. He was saying oooh, I'm not spending money on my dog blah, blah, blah, we'll put it to sleep. The next day he found out the diagnosis, was quite sad and yes he forked over hundreds to repair his dog. So you see, sometimes its just stupid talk because they have not yet been through it. My heart is with ya, take it easy and pay no attention to what is absolute nonsense from people with little sense. :D |

I don't blame you for being upset - some people just don't understand how much our little furbabies mean to us. I would do anything for my 2 little guys - regardless of cost. They are my kids and such an important part of our lives. |

I totally agree with what you say. Some people just don't have a clue! |

Some people do not have much compassion for animals. They are insensitive and it does not bother them much to put pets to sleep if the cure is too expensive. If they move, they will sometimes leave their pet behind or bring it to the pound. I know of many incidents where men will shoot dogs that 'ruin their hunting' by walking near their deer stands. I am thankful every day that I am NOT one of those people. I could never be that cold or uncaring to a defenseless creature. If I had to choose between saving one of their lives or an animal's life...guess who I'd choose? |

Aw, Brooke I am sorry that anyone could say that. I would have been upset too. I often get similar comments for the money I put into my furbabies care as well and it just irks me. They are like children to me, they aren't disposable when one thing goes wrong. I can't believe people can be so cruel but in a way I feel sorry for them. For they have never experienced the love of one of these furbabies otherwise they would do anything in their power to help them. I am sorry they were so cruel and upset you. Forget about them, they are the ones missing out. Hugs to you girl!! |

Some people are idiots and cruel. They have NO clue that when you love a dog you will pay what ever it takes to make it well again:mad: jeeze |

I'm sorry they were cruel to you, some people just don't get it, you have to let it go... I know sometimes you feel like you wanna punch them in the nose, but still, they won't get it... heartless people... I know many of them... just let it go... it's not worth it... they are not worth it... we love you, Brooke. |

I can certainly understand where you are coming from. Last year, Gabby had an extremely rough time she went through - I almost lost her (that's part of the reason I've been gone so long from YT). First the vet found what he thought was a tumor in her mouth - was just a polyp thank goodness! Then she got an extremely serious yeast infection on her feet that she transferred to her mouth when she licked - she was not able to eat or even drink water without throwing up and spent 5 days on iv meds getting better. Then, if that weren't enough, she tore her ACL 2 months later and spent more time in the hospital to have surgery and recover. People would say to me, especially after the yeast infection, "If she were mine, I'd just put her down". I screamed at one and told them they were a heartless b@s$^*d and how would they like it if they were diagnosed with a major illness and their wife wanted to just "put them down"! There are, in my opinion, 2 kinds of people in this world in regards to pets - those who love them unconditionally and those who just basically have no clue what it is to be a pet owner (or to be owned by a pet!). I'm so sorry you have had to go through this! |

I can see why that upset you and hurt you! People can just be so callous. You should thank your lucky stars everyday that you are not like that. Take pity on those that are, as they do not have the emotional capacity to love so unconditionally like you do. :) Your world is a brighter, more loving and fun place to live in than their's ever will be. I do more of less feel sadness or pity for those who do not see the wonder and joy in owning an animal. Their tune would change in a heartbeat if they did own a dog Im sure! |

aww dont take personally! Really. It is their loss that they have never experienced the type of relationship that we have with our pets. They just dont KNOW. They see it as any other animal. But we know our babies. We know what they are thinking...what they want and even when they have been bad before we even see the evidence. It is just lack of knowledge on their part. See, I dont get NASCAR. I just dont get it (OK no backlash here, please! I just picked this as an example.) I have seen grown men cry or not be able to eat during an important football game. Its what they are passionate about...so they get it. ME not so much. I bet they have no idea that saying something about your pet is the same as if they had said it about your momma!!!! Chin up!! |

Ohh Brooke, People just don't understand the love we have for our babies. I talk about my babies just like I would my own skin child. I even have photos of them on my desk. People just don't understand how we feel, they don't know the love these lil ones give us. |
