I think Im crazy! So I've known this guy for about 7 years. I met him through my best friend who works with him. The whole time I've known him, he was married and I was in a LONG term monogomous relationship (that eventually led to buying a house and getting engaged). I would see this guy from time to time, maybe 2-3x a year, nothing major. Every time I did see him though the air would crackle b/t us. There was sooo much chemistry! But being the good people we are, we never ever 'went there' not even so much as to acknowledge there was chemistry while we were both with other people. He finally asked me out (little over a month ago - we have both been 'single' for 2-3 years at this point). I went with him and .... I am CRAZY about this guy... I mean absolutely crazy! He is EVERYTHING Ive EVER wanted in a man. We click, its soooo right, as a matter of fact, I think he is 'THE ONE'! I feel in my heart that Im going to marry this man and in way less time than I ever thought. Do you think Im crazy??? For those who are married... did you know within a month that you wanted to marry your husband and would? He has felt the need to bring up marriage with me, which I found odd bc I never mentioned it. He told me that when he got divorced he said he would never marry again, but he has since changed his stance on that. (weird comment right??) and he said something about me living in his house one day! (I told him I would never move in with a guy again til I was married or getting married - since Id have to sell my own house to do a move and thats risking too much for a boyfriend imo) this is crazy! I feel crazy... but I feel it in my heart and soul that he is it... he is who I was meant to be with ... under my nose for 7 years! Guess the time was never right until now! |
I am so happy for you! Yes I knew My Husband was the one. We were friends before we were together and I knew then. We just clicked. I have been with him 17 yrs and have a beautiful Daughter and I dont have a single regret. He has been the best Father and Husband. It sounds like you two were made for each other |

Congratulations..sometimes all it takes is one minute. That time was necessary for you to both grow to the point where you needed to be for it to be right. Good luck...sounds like things will move fast. |
:D I knew my husband was "the one" the minute I laid eyes on him. He walked in the door of my office and my heart turned a somersault!! It's nearly 30 years later and he's still my "one and only". |
Awww, I can just hear the excitement in your voice! I don't even know you but I am so excited for you! I have read about your past relationship and have always thought that you deserve SO much more! Im glad you are finally getting it :) Everything happens for a reason :) |
Yes, my stomache turns when I get an email from him, or I get restless or nervous when I know Im going to see him. Nervous in a good way. I feel comfortable with him and totally myself. He introduced me to his whole family already and they already knew about me. He asked me get a passport bc he may want to take a trip. I told him I had no money to take a trip with school and stuff and all he said was "just promise me you'll get a passport at least" so I said YES. LOL this is sooooo crazy! I am head over heels in love with this guy and I know he feels the same... neither of us will say it as we feel its too soon and too scary right now though. He has 2 kids, 11 & 14 year old boys. I met them and loved them and they seemed to really like me too. I have mentioned potentially wanting another kid down the road a couple years, one of my own, and he is fixed. He mentioned that hes not opposed to getting it reversed to have another kid, but it would be a big decision as his kids are getting older and stuff like that. I think he would though. Ironically Im not worried about it at all. I couldnt imagine that I would EVER feel like this about someone else. I was hoping to feel content with another person in my life, I figured I found my one great love and it didnt work out... but now I feel like I have found another one. I feel like a teenager LOL!!! All my friends and family are amazed and enthralled with my sudden attitude change about relationships and love and all that... they all believe that he is the one and hardly any of them have met him yet! I can't stop gushing!!! HAHA I gotta say it here bc I can't say it to him yet! |
My husband was married to another woman when we met. We were both in the military and did drill together once a month. We would talk, we got along great..the same chemistry as you were talking about. I was single, but out of respect of the woman he was married to we never did anything about it. He emailed me one day telling me his wife was prego by another man and they were getting a divorce. 2 weeks later we went out on our first date, got engaged on the 3rd day and have been happily married and inseparable ever since and that was 5 1/2 years ago. If you know what you feel in your heart is true, and you trust that his feelings are true as well, go for it. Dont worry about what others may think. Our families thought we were moving too fast at the time, but now they joke that we still act like newlyweds. BTW, I was 19 and he was 27 at the time. We now have 2 children and I have a cordial relationship with his exwife (they had kids together). I say go for it!! Good luck!! |
so far noone has said anything about us moving too fast.. everyone is in awe of my feelings for him. My mom told me that sometimes it just happens like that, things move quick and both him & I are old enough and wise enough to know ourselves. He is 39 and Im 31. We've both been through hellish relationships and this one is so refreshing to both of us. He said his family loves me bc they see how happy I make him. :) |
Thats great! Go for it....your not crazy. |
I knew my husband was the one on our second date. He claims I told him I was going to marry him 2 weeks into the relationship, I don't remember that, but it's probably true. I knew he was the one because I felt completely comfortable with him. like i could truely be myself with him. And it's been amazing ever since. |
Awwww......that's so wonderful! You sound so happy and I hope it all works out just perfectly for you! |

Thanks ladies!!! I am so happy I found this site and can tell you all this!!! :) |
I think your crazy crazy in love! My husband and I actually went to the same high school and NEVER met during our 4 years there. After he graduated a friend decided to introduce us and he were friends for abought a month and a half and I just knew there was "something" about him. I had a feeling deep down that was just fuzzy and he did too. After a week of "officially becoming bf/gf" we were already talking about marriage and we've been together for 5 years! Congrats and Best Wishes! :D |
Does he like Yorkies?? |
That's awesome! I am SO happy for you. I'm in the boat you were in on relationships (met the one and it didn't work out), so you're a shining ray of hope, too, for those of us who have all but written love off. :) |
Isn't love grand?!!!!!!!! My story was the same as yours.....my DH and I knew each other for about 8 or 9 years before we ever had our first date. Once he finally asked me out....there was an immediate connection between us. We fell head over hills in love!!! We have been married for 15 years and our marriage is PERFECT!!!! We are best friends, great parents, great lovers, etc....we are perfect for each other!!! I look back at all the other relationships I was in and cannot believe the "beeep" I put up with. I am very happy for you!!!! Keep us posted!!!! |
you go girl.. im so happy for you.. |
I think that's great that you feel that strongly about it and there must be something if you do. Best of luck to you, cant wait to hear what happens. |

that is wonderful!!!! but you had to ask the question about did we feel like we could marry them after a month????? i don't have a great answer for that. i have been in many (well all )my new relationships have always been "world wind". i always wanted to marry the guy after a month or 5. but it always winds down and thats when you get real. i am glad you are so happy. it's been a long time since i felt that newness of a relationship. i have been w my husband for 10 years. |

I am so happy for you... I have been married for 26 years and I just want to say #1 Make sure you get to know all sides of him before you marry him. I dated my husband for 3 years before we married. I saw him Mad, greaving, sad, happy, tired. I think I saw just about it all... I think that is important. #2 My sister has been through a few tough times with guys. This one guy she thought was the one. She moved out of her apartment to live with him. As soon as she moved there were problems... After being with him over a year she moved in and she realised she had made a horrible mistake moving out of her place almost right away. He was awful to her and she couldn't aford to move out. Her apartment was a fixed rent, as soon as she moved out the rent was higher and she couldn't aford it. She was stuck with this guy for Months... and she called crying and we all helped her with money. I guess what I'm saying is, think very hard about giving up your home and all until you are really married.... Be careful and protect yourself. He sounds wonderful and he probably is. But don't be blinded by your feelings. And if you see ANY red flags listen to your self and take a closer look! |
I am so happy for you. I have a feeling this is right for you. You sound so exuberant and I can "hear" your excitement. I really wish the best for you. Yipeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!! |

Im sorry to hear about your sister, I bet she is wiser now. I am wiser after my terrible experience with my ex also, thank goodness! :) And oh yes, red flags, since my break up from my ex, Im very aware of red flags and not afraid to say so to any guy I dated. ive dumped guys left and right or not gone out with them again bc of reasons that some might find dumb but are important to me. One guy swore too much, sorry but you just sound like an uneducated idiot, I couldn't date him! I am sooooo cautious of myself and what i built and sooo independant my mom seriously thought Id NEVER end up finding someone bc I tell every guy I meet to get lost after 2 dates HAHA but thats bc I already knew in 2 dates they were not worthy to keep around. I see NO red flags with this guy at all yet. I know its only been a month, but I've known him for 7 years on a high level (not personal and intimate like, but some knowledge of who he is, also my best friend considers him one of her best friends and absolutely loves and adores him and the person he is, and if I can't trust her judgement in men, who can I? she's been my best friends for 17 years now!) I met him through my best friend and they have been close for 7 years. He is actually a JP and married her to her hubby in Sept. :) Thanks all :) I am still sooo happy here :) |
