No plans here.... just laundry! How 'bout some Rotel? Thats easy and goes great for football games. Two cans of drained Rotel A block of Velvetta cheese You can add hamburger or Sausage if you want. Stick it all in the crock pot and you are good to go! Pigs in the Blanket are super easy! Run to Sam's or Wal~Mart or even Subway and get a big ole Sub sammich! I hope you feel better! |

OUCH, I hope you feel better to watch the big game...I am having people over to watch & enjoy the game and I woke up with a massive headache, Lucky I did most of the preparatons yesterday & today everything is going to the oven... I am having appetizers, six layer dips, Wings, Shrimp Scampi, Tomatoes, Mozzarelle & Basil, Rice with Gandules, Ribs, Meatballs. Beers, Sodas, Veggie Platter...ECT... Too much Work!!!!! |
For your blatter infection- try drinking a glass of cranberry or crabery/apple juice! I use to have UTI ALL the time- this did help me- worth a try- it usually took 30 min for relief! i love this snack for parties- it take a little time to wrap- but you can sit and do it- cooking is a 5 min deal! Little smokies- 1 pkg for every # of bacon Bacon brown sugar Toothpicks Cut the bacon in 3 pieces- i just cut the whole # wrap the small piece of bacon around a little smokey- secure w/ toothpick then place the wrapped smokeys on a broiler pan- line it with foil- for easier clean up Sprinkle brown sugar over them- how ever much you want! doesn't take a lot Put in a HOt oven- like 425-450- bake for approx 5 min- keep an eye on them when bacon is browned- they are done! These are so good- they will go very fast! or do the velveta /w rotel tomatoes dip! Can add hamburger to that , too! That's what i am fixing to day- have not had it in a long time! Hope you feel better, so you can enjoy the super bowl! |
I have a cheeseball recipe that the guys at my school always ask me to make for snack days. two packages of cream cheese softened one package of dry Ranch dressing (not the buttermilk recipe) mix it all together and then roll it in seasoned pepper (McCormick's is my fav brand) serve with crackers of your choice. :D |

 The smokies wrapped in a bacon are always a big hit! If you have a toaster oven, you can also use that -- its less mess. I havent made those in a long time but when I do, they go super fast! |
Sorry you don't feel good...that's no fun when you've got company coming over :( Some easy suggestions Rotel & Velveeta cheese dip Chicken fingers (order a tray from your grocery deli, or a local restaurant) Veggie tray (also premade at the grocery store) Pre made brownies or cheese cake bites for something sweet Today is the 2nd largest selling day for grocery stores so they have sections set up just for Super Bowl selling ideas. You'll probably come up with some good easy ideas just walking the aisles when you go to the store. Feel better.;) |
Call your favorite grocery store and have them make a tray of coldcuts for sandwiches. The ones here layer smoked turkey, ham, and roast beef on lettuce leaves then layer 3 cheeses on top of that with pickles and olives. I just buy a couple of different kinds of bread to go with it. You can also put little smokies in a crock pot with your favorite BBQ sauce and cook on low. They are great! If you did the coldcut tray and smokies, you could make a pot of chili and then all you'd need is drinks and dipppers. I hope you feel better soon. |
I am sorry you are not feeling well. We are having pizza here also. The kind you bake at home from Papa Murphey |
Im making taco puffs...there will be wings in the fryer with Sauce from Buffalo (ANCHOR BAR!), brownies, snacks, chili, s**t on a shingle (LOL), and im not sure what else people are bringing... I have to pack up the dogs, thier stuff, myself and my stuff and head to Nick's house and 8 of our friends will be there with us as well. It will be fun! |

Maybe we should start a recipe thread???? |
Ok. I'm gonna give you my secret recipe that wherever it is served, people rave about it. ;) Buy a bag of premade meatballs and put them in a crock pot. Melt in the frying pan on the stove a jar of grape jelly. Like an 8 ou jar. Once melted, add a jar of chili sauce. Mix together and pour over the meatballs and cook unit the meatballs are hot. That's it. Good luck! And hope you feel better. |
Thanks everyone. Some good ideas. Some of the people have backed out. I think they feel bad for me. My husband is grilling chicken. Nothing sounds good to me now. I am so nauseated. I had to go back to bed after first post. Head is not pounding as much. Rotel is always a big hit. Maybe that and some other dips. The remaining Guest are not picky. Sucks being sick. Itried to suggeSt beer and pizza but DH said no. Oh well he can knock himself out over the grill. Lol. |
Well, we were going to have hamburgers and brats. But at the moment it is HAILING like crazy. So, it might just be pizza. I will be making guacamole, refried bean dip and possibly some cheese puffs. Nothing too fancy. |
I'm addicted to this stuff: 2 packages of Cream Cheese, softened 3/4 cup Hot Sauce (like Franks hot sauce) 2 10 oz cans chunk chicken, drained 1 cup Ranch Dressing 1 1/2 cups cheddar cheese, shredded Heat chicken and hot sauce in a skillet over medium heat, until heated through. Stir in cream cheese and ranch dressing. Cook, stirring until well blended and warm. Mix in half of the shredded cheese, and transfer the mixture to a slow cooker. Sprinkle the remaining cheese over the top, cover, and cook on Low setting until hot and bubbly. Serve with chicken in a biscuit crackers. |
What about a pot of chili and some chips. Tacos are easy also. Crackers, cheese and salami, pepperoni, etc. I am sorry you are not feeling well. Drink lots of fluids, a couple glasses of cranberry juice will help ease the pain. I have been getting UTI's since I was 12. I started drinking cranberry juice a couple times a week and have not had one for a while now. Hope you feel better soon! |
I like to add 8oz of sour cream to my rotel this kind of tones it down if you have kids eating it. As for the smokies I just put them in a crock pot with brown sugar over them and allow them to warm. I have a great crock pot Brunswick Stew. 3 16oz c Diced tomatoes 3 16oz c Creamed corn 1 cup ketchup 1/2 apple cider vinegar 1 stick butter 2lbs ground beef (chuck) browned & drained 2 large cans chickens breast (shredded finely with fork) 1tsp cayenne pepper 2tsp black pepper 1tsp salt Add all to crock pot and cook on low, this soup will stick, stir occasionally. I usually will turn this up a little higher if I am at home and will just stir it more often. You can go a little lighter on the pepper if you like. My family likes this better than homemade veggie. Also you can never go wrong with cheese cubes. |
What exactly is Rotel??? The recipe sound good but I'm not sure what the Rotel is. We are having Nachos with an amazing layered dip and a fruit platter with a dip. MMMMM I'm getting hungry reading this thread. |
I just copied and pasted the first recipie I came to but you can add ground beef if you like it better. This will just give you a general idea. You will find Rotel with the canned tomatoes and it will say Rotel. And I add 8oz sour cream and use Tostado chip or any kind of corn chip for dipping. 1 large block of Velveeta cheese 2 cans original Rotel diced tomatoes 1 log Owens spicy ground sausage First cut cheese into 1 inch cubes. Place cheese in crock pot and melt on medium heat. When cheese is almost melted, add undrained rotel tomatoes. Now in a medium sauté pan brown sausage until done. Add the sausage to the cheese mixture, then cover and simmer until thoroughly heated. Serve with Tostada chips at parties or any group occasions. |
Hope everyone is enjoying their SB food. My husband did chips salsa. Oh and the Rotel is gone. We still have to pull out the helluva good dip. DH is about to throw the chicken on the grill. He is also making seasalt roasted potatoes. I had a few saltines and sprite. Woohoo! I take cranberry pills to avoid the calories. So, I will have to try the meatball and grape jelly recipe. I don't eat pork but I do like the beef smokies. I use a sauce made of half apricot jelly and half BBQ sauce. Not bad. So eat on everyone. I am jealous! |
