Sweet lady, I have asked God to bless you so many times and I know He has! I am so happy for you that the hardest part of adjustment is behind you. I have been there several times and it does get a little easier as time goes on. I know it's hard for the girls too ... Toto is such a little creature of habit that she doesn't adjust quickly to change! She can give the nastiest little looks! Chanel & Cheri will establish their little "routines" before you know it! If they are like Toto, they will let you know it if you vary from their routine too!! :p I know you miss Tessa ... I am so terribly sorry. It hurts my heart every time I think of you having to go through that alone. I would hope that if I were faced with that difficult decision, I would love Toto as much as you did Tessa. God bless you! I will be looking forward to all the new adventures of "Mom & The Spygirls"!! ;) |

Sorry at Tessa but you did the right thing. Better to not let her suffer. You know what she held on and made sure you and the girls were ok after hubby passed. Now she is up there with him running and playing. |
I have been thinking about you all week -- I'm so glad to see you post! I read your thread asking for a funny moving story -- I hope those helped. Be proud of all you have accomplished! What a huge job!! (I've been thinking about moving out of state, but the thought of packing up a 4-bedroom house by myself, keeps me stuck) -- but seeing that you have done this & overcome so many trials does inspire me to get on the stick!! You have done a great job!! So sorry to learn about Tessa, I had wondered about her, because I had noticed there was no mention of her in your recent posts. May she know your husbands love and warm touch again. He must have needed her more right now, than you. Wish I had great advice about the cat issue -- mine have lived with cats, so they just know they're a fact of life  -- but they would still love to give chase to any we see on walks. I would just be firm about saying no, and pull up the reins on how much leash they get when they get an attitude about getting a cat. |
Good luck in your new apartment! |
Oh Villette...congratulations! Sometimes we surprise ourselves with what we can do...when we have to. I am so sorry about Tessa....it's an awful decision. She's back at Leonard's side. :) The cat remark made me laugh....I have cats. Ramsey and Reese chase them...or pounce on 'em. They are merciless. I'm sure the cats wonder....what was wrong with just being a kitty house? |
Hey Vi! It's nice to read your post about how you are moving on. I'm very proud of you 'cause I know how hard that can be. :) I'm so sorry to hear about your cocker Tess.:( It's so painful to let them go but you did right by her. Enjoy yourself and have fun getting your apartment set up just how you like it. Your girls will settle in soon enough and you'll have to tell us the stories as they do!:D And cats? - Tink likes to lick them! She pins the neighbor's cat down on the ground and licks her face and tummy!:p Can you imagine that?! I can't believe she gets away with it. |
I'm so sorry for both your losses.........I just can't imagine!!!!! It seems the girls are settling down into their new digs, and I have to say that you do sound much better too. With your upbeat positive attitude, you are going to have a very nice life. Congratulation in all your accomplishments, and I really mean that! |
Villette - I am so glad to see that you're posting on here again. I must admit, I haven't been on here very much for quite a while. I read just about everything, but have not had much to say. Now that I see you are back, I'll be here more often. I am happy you found a nice apartment and a full time job. I'm not so sure the girls agree, but they'll get used to the new routine in no time at all. Not to mention all the doggy-kisses you get when you finally do get home. :kiss4: :kiss4: :kiss4: Suz |
Vi, I'm so sorry to hear about Tessa. It's so hard to lose them especially they have become such a large part of our heart. Congratulations on your new home. I'm sure the girls will adjust in no time. |
I'm glad you are settling in your new apartment and things are really starting to look up. And I'm sorry to hear about Tessa. |
V - we all knew you could do it, girl!!!!! I'm so proud of you for making it through and starting your new life. I hope your new apartment will bring wonderful new memories for you. Hugs!!! |
Glad to hear all is good V, I'm sure the girls will adjust in time. How are you liking your new job? I bet the girls are so happy to see you when you get home in the evening. I'm always thinking of you girl! Bug Hugs! |

What really irritates the heck out of me are the very BOLD squirrels. They taunt my poor babies to no end. I thought it was bold when in the summer they would come so close to the screened in porch that my babies would just about jump through the screens, but this winter they have taken to jumping up on our windows. Just this morning I heard one sneaking up on the girls as they were sunbathing on the top of the couch and then all of a sudden ... here is this brazen squirrel looking right in on them! I could not believe it .. even when they went ballistic ... the squirrel held it's ground. Oooooooh, I was so mad, how dare they tease these guys and get away with it.   I was real tempted to open the window and let them out... LOL |
LOL on the cat stories ! HAHA - I don't think my Cheri wants to lick any of them :D :D the cats I've seen are BAD A$$ and just STARE US DOWN  I just know if the girls get too close they'll get their faces scratched so I'm REALLY careful ~ You guys are the best :) :) - and to answer a question - my job is GREAT  ~! and now with this new place I only have 2 MILES to drive to work vs 18 that I was doing from the house IN Houston Traffic - What a big relief this is....Yesterday when I left work, I was home so fast I thought I was in the wrong place LOL I admit though - I'm totally exhausted - I think it's all hitting me that we're really here and there's no going back - only forward. |
