That Darn Cat!!! Sunday night I made a yellow cake with milk chocolate icing...so yummy...only had two pieces... I came home from class this afternoon and took a shower so I could go to Bleu's signing party (his thread is in the sick & injured forum). I noticed my older cat, Kira, had stinky poop while I was getting ready... well, when I went downstairs I noticed that the foil was partially off of my cake pan. My cat had jumped onto the kitchen counter and eaten part of the cake and icing  The one place I do not want my cats is my kitchen counters, but I've caught Kira up there a few times. I never even thought she'd get up there and try to eat something. I can't believe she uncovered my cake and ate it! I only got two pieces out of that cake... Luckily it was only milk chocolate icing, and she probably would have had to have eaten a lot more for it to be toxic to her. She's had some diarrhea and an upset tummy, but otherwise seems fine now. This cat has allergies to everything though...she's been doing SOOO well lately...I just hope her allergies don't act up now. Still mad about my cake though  |
LOL, that sneaky little kitty! She's pretty smart though. She knew you couldn't the whole thing and was just helping out.:p Years ago for my daughter's 4th birthday I had made her a Barbie cake. It was one of those where the cake is the skirt and you stick the Barbie body in the top. She always had Halloween themed birthday parties so I had decorated the Barbie as a purple witch to match my daughter's purple witch costume- it was quite a lot work with all of the piping and different tips. It was on the kitchen table and right before the party I went outside to hang some more balloons. I came in and there was the cake, perfectly fine but looking like it had never been frosted. I mean it looked fresh from the oven. I had a brief moment of thinking I had lost my mind and then realized our dog Basil has jumped on the table and licked all of the frosting off and then jumped back down. After having a slight melt down, I frosted it all over again (too late to bake a new one and you have to have a cake) and the kids had cupcakes.:p |

Well, Kira seems completely fine now. She visited the litterbox several times last night but otherwise is fine. I threw the cake in the trash :( |
My cat I had for about 10 years (she passed away a few months ago) was crazy for chocolate! We could not leave ANYHTING chocolate out or she wouls eat it. Chocolate and Fruit Loops she went crazy for. |
