I have a yakker too, and the sad thing is..... it's a boy!! Mason is 14 years old now and he still just babbles on and on and on. I tell him sometimes I sware that he loves the sound of his own voice and he will just talk so he can hear himself. I bought him a tee shirt that say's "My Parents taught me to walk and talk and now all they want me to do is sit down and shut up!!" He got his first detention this year..For excessive TALKING, we were not to surprised at this as all his teachers he has ever had tell us "He sure has a lot to say" He was an early talker too, he started talking before he was 6 months old, real words like ball, dog, uck and no. Full sentences were streaming out his mouth at 15 months old. It has not stoped for us, it got worse LOL!! So I feel for ya, I have had 14 years of hearing his lovely non stop voice!! My mom said that she is glad that I am getting payed back for all the years she had to listen to me babble on so I et no sympathy from my family members! |
I have a 6 yr old son who made me wait almost 4 yrs to hear him talk in sentences :( we got so many diagnoses with him (all wrong by the way) that now he could chew my ear off and I love every second of it :) |
My daughter will be 15 in April. The only time she isnt talking is when she is asleep. I am not joking either. I have to have a talk with her teachers every year. She doesnt know how to read to herself. I do think she just loves to hear her own voice. She is right now in the shower and you can hear her singing in there. There are days when I cant wait till she is sleeping so I can rest. LOL |
My eight year old daughter is the same way..it drives me batty sometimes. I feel bad becaus when she gets going I find myself zoning out a bit. |

I am so different from you in that respect. My five year old is vivacious and I LOVE every minute we spend together. Talking and talking and so curious. I truly enjoy every minute of it. When she stops talking to me, I will worry. Her banter is so intelligent also. She relates her day at school to me and it is so "special", Gosh I love that little girl so much! No, I never want it to stop. (PMS or not, I always have time for her.) |
My granddaughter is 5 and she is the same way. I love hearing her talk though. She's so funny and soooooooooo smart!!! My kids were the same way. They just have alot to say at this age I guess lol |
OH wow...fast forward .... 7 yrs....I don't know if boys are any better, LOL....but you've chosen your path..get ready and hang on, girl...or maybe get some really good earplugs..but by then, I bet you'll have it down to a science:D |
lol boy can I relate. My daughter Olivia is 6 years old also and never SHUTS UP....there is no nice way to put it. My husband and I just look at each other sometimes and shake our heads. We can ask her to be quiet one second and within seconds she is yacking again. We have to threaten her to another room when we are watching our shows because she just doesn't get it. Oh man I'm dreading years to come. I'm sure it will get worse. Having said all this I love her to bits, she has so many wonderful qualities. Much quieter ones. lol |
