Sewers and quilters I need help!! For my "boyfriend" (its sort of a complicated situation  ), I want to make him a quilt or blanket for his birthday. He loves toy story, so I found some Woody (his favorite character) fabric like this:http://cgi.ebay.com/FQ-Fabric-Fat-Qu...QQcmdZViewItem But I have almost 3 yards of it. I know the basics of quiltings, but never made one myself. So how should I make this quilt? I need a REALLY simple pattern, that would look good with the fabric above. Also, what other color or types of fabric should I use to make the quilt look good. ANY and all suggestions are welcome! Thanks! |
1 Attachment(s) Check out these two sites for prety simple block ideas: http://www.equilters.com/ and http://scrapquilts.com/ I personally really like the scrap quilts "Can't stop spinnin'" but you'll have to decide how busy you want the quilt(and how much sewing you really want to get into). I know my public library has a lot of books with full size quilting patterns. I actually made myself a drafting table a few years ago and inlaid some patterns from my library. For colors I'd bring a scrap of you're Woody material along to a fabric store and see what looks nice with it. I'm a fan of complimentry colors so I'd look at blues and oranges to flesh it out but maybe you want to follow colors that he's got going on in his bedroom or living room. it'd be neat to see what you end up choosing, give updates! |
