Before I Was A Mother

Before I was a Mom - I slept as late as I wanted and never worried about how late I got into bed. I brushed my hair and my teeth everyday.

Before I was a Mom -
I cleaned my house each day.
I never tripped over toys or forgot words to a lullaby.
I didn't worry whether or not my plants were poisonous.
I never thought about immunizations.

Before I was a Mom -
I had never been puked on.
Pooped on.
Spit on.
Chewed on.
Peed on.
I had complete control of my mind and my thoughts.
I slept all night.

Before I was a Mom -
I never held down a screaming child so that doctors could do tests. Or give shots.
I never looked into teary eyes and cried.
I never got gloriously happy over a simple grin.
I never sat up late hours at night watching a baby sleep.

Before I was a Mom -
I never held a sleeping baby just because I didn't want to put it down.
I never felt my heart break into a million pieces when I couldn't stop the hurt.
I never knew that something so small could affect my life so much.
I never knew that I could love someone so much.
I never knew I would love being a Mom.

Before I was a Mom -
I didn't know the feeling of having my heart outside my body.
I didn't know how special it could feel to feed a hungry baby.
I didn't know that bond between a mother and her child.
I didn't know that something so small could make me feel so important and happy.

Before I was a Mom -
I had never gotten up in the middle of the night every 10 minutes to make sure
all was okay.
I had never known the warmth,
The joy,
The love,
The heartache,
The wonderment or the satisfaction of being a Mom.
I didn't know I was capable of feeling so much before I was a Mom.

She is beautiful. Hats off and praise to you for not much pain med.(I had none with all 5 of mine).Her head looks so nice and round No cone head for being in labor that long...Great job momma.

When I posted the pictures I think I was running on nothing but adrenalin still... I've managed to catch up on some sleep but with me breastfeeding it's pretty draining but I'm slowly catching myself up. :)

She was pretty scared of her the day I brought her home and went and hid under the sofa everytime she cried! :rolleyes: The first night home she woke up every 40minutes(!), yep, that was fun... Gypsy got fed up of getting out of bed to hide from her underneath it and just delt with the crying. The next day she had fully adjusted to her, she will come sit on the sofa next to me while I'm feeding, she goes over to her in her bouncer just to have a look and a sniff and seems to quite like her really. We do have a slight problem though that she's not too impressed when my BF picks her up! :(

I have been. She's so adorable I want to capture every little facial expression, cute sleeping position, etc, etc. Also, I want to thank you for being a life saver! The clothes you sent fit her ABSOLUTELY PERFECTLY and were actually the only ones I have that fit her!!! :eek: Thank you soooo much, I love the pooh tshirt and trousers outfit and the little pink and white floral nightdress... I would keep her in the nightdress everyday if I could, she looks so perfect in it. I'll be posting a photo of her wearing it shortly.

When can she sign up! lol. :rolleyes:

She does love her, she loves her too much, she doesn't like Daddy holding her! She wants to be Mummy's little helper too and you should see her guarding the baby while she's sleeping! lol :D

It's such a wonderful feeling and I can't even begin to express how much I love her. I can't believe how much they change just in a few days! She's still got adorable chubby little cheeks but she just looks so different and even more beautiful than the day she was born. :D

WOW, finally caught up with the thread! :D We are both fine thank you and settled into a new life as a family. I posted a few replies up about how Gypsy is doing with Amelia.
