By the way I was not cracking up because the words sounded funny or anything. I actually know Spanish fluent actually my mother does not know English she is hard headed and never wanted to learn.(Then she wonders where I learned to be hard headed.lol) Until recently I had not notice how much I have been taking my reading and writing in Spanish for granted. An old friend even joked about me not knowing Spanish anymore which if it was not for my mother it probably would be true. I need to start practicing my writing. Even though I hate Spanish. I has in a bilingual school until midyear of 8th grade when I finally moved back here and never again had to take another Spanish class it was heaven on earth for me.lol Good luck with your Spanish I know it can be hard to learn and whatnot. I'm talking from experience here I mean it was the first language I learned and then when I first moved here I started learning English and would only practice my Spanish with my mother. I never learned how to read or write Spanish until I was in first grade back home and it was very hard for me. Ugh I could not pronounce my r's.-_- Now that was hell my brother used to pick on me because of that. But now I can pronounce them perfectly.=) If you are having any trouble please feel free to pm me and I will get back to you as soon as possible. |

Where at in California are you? There are some adult schools that offer the spanish classes and free too. I think its great because its extremely bias to teach free english to spanish speakers only yet we have to pay to learn their language. I know little spanish as I 've lived around it all my life. Its not of preference and i have no real intentions of completely learning their language. But my oldest son is learning it and I'll be damned if he says something to me in spanish and i'm stooped because I can't figure out what he is saying. I understand more then I speak. No offence to spanish speakers here. I was watched and sitted by a spanish speaking family that knew little english and relied on their children to translate. Great thing is is that we are all still close 20 years later. |
i went to vieques puerto rico this past summer and vowed to learn conversational spanish..i am considering ordering "behind the wheel spanish"..its a cd you listen to while you drive and you say the phrases back.. it is fairly inexpensive too at less than $50 i dont care if i spell everything correctly i just want to be able to speak it - everyone in Puerto Rico speaks eng/spanish fluently and i was jealous and wished i knew spanish and i made a promise to a local woman to try to learn a bit if i ever came back |
