They actually stay on quite well. There is also fabric paint that works well too. |
I have appliqued names on T shirts. You could cut out the letters and then stick them on with a glue stick and sew a satin stitch around them. |
I was going to try them in the future. I have used fusable web ( you iron one side to the lettering or whatever you want to add, peel off the backing and the iron the whole piece to the fabric, it's like double-sided sticky tape that you iron to activate the sticky glue) it stays on really well through washing too. |
I have hand emboridered before, its really simple. |

How many names? Do they have a lot of letters in them? |

well you could try to do it by hand... or if you can find someone to sew it. What i did was I went to walmart one day and I got some embroider thread that was .10 cent to practice with and I practiced on fleece. Let me try to explain how I did it.. I tie a knot on the end of the thread, I used all 7-8 strips of the embrioer thread. Then I pulled that threw on the back side so the know will be on the side no will would be able to see. Then i went down through the fleece, then right back up again, pulled it through just a little bit then tied my thread over my needle, so it looked like a loop. Then your next loop,.. you need to go back down in that same place where you just came up at.. I don't know if you get what im saying once I get my computer fixed, I can post some pics.. let me look for a link |
http://www.bead-media.com/knotbeadembroidery.html if you scroll down a little ways, im refering to the overhand knot. |
Another option is to have it professionally embroidered. We have a shop here in our town that will do it for not very much. |
