Anyone work for a BANK? I have direct deposit of my paycheck and it usually always goes in on my employers side by 3pm Wed's then Thurs by 8am it shows it available.. however it is not showing up AT ALL online right now? Because of this it is showing me overdrafted....can anyone help me on this? I know my bank was having problems with their system all weekend long and yesterday I couldnt log on to see my account.. any suggestions? |
I am sorry you are Going though this.. I don't work for a bank but I will say that I Always make sure I have the money in the account before spend it. I also don't have the direct deposit.. I DON'T Trust my employer<<< sad but true. I hope You get it all worked out. |
thanks.. I am the same.. and it kept showing I had $$... and credits that had gone through but now it is showing I don't and my direct deposit isnt there? |
If you can prove your employer deposited the $$$ and the bank did not give you credit the bank will reverse the overdraft charges if you call them. |
the thing is what time the bank deposited and the time the charges went through... what if they are different .... plus any deposits made after 4pm are credited the following day... |
I'd call the bank. Maybe with the holidays, things got messed up. My account always looks messed up when I check online. Between the $1.00 preposting and the double postings then crediting one, it's a nightmare to really know where you stand - until it jumps out at you printed in RED:mad: . I hope everything is ok and just a compute glitch. |
I would call the bank and talk to them. Banks love direct deposit so if you got someone helpful they will walk you through all your questions. |
Our direct deposit is usually in by now as well. However with the holiday it won't be in until in the morning. We had the exact same problem last week and ended up paying $140 in NSF fees because of it. We have some some bills that automatically come out of our account each month. Apparently just because the holiday stops money from going IN our account on time, it doesn't stop it from coming OUT. |

long ago (and far away) I used to work for a bank. I can tell you that credits are always cleared before debits. So if 2 charges were at the same time I believe its a law that they put through the credit first and then the debit. I hope that helps! |
When you use direct deposit for your payroll check your funds should be availible at midnight the day of the deposit. EFt's are different than a check, the convience of DD is so that you have your funds availible faster and without having to go to the bank or Credit Union. You can go to a personal banker and have your overdraft charges reversed if the sutuation is the fault of the financial institution, however if it is the fault of your employer and they wont cover the charges the bank can only undo so many nsf charges so you may not be able to get all of your $ refunded :( I hope you can get this straightened out and if your employer knew that your check would be held up or late then they should have sent a heads up! best of luck |
My DH's direct deposit is always a day late on a week with a holiday :( |
Because of the holiday, my direct deposit did not go until today. It is usually there wed pm but doesn't really have to be there until thurs so I can't complain. I knew it would be a little later because of the holiday. |
