Any crafters? What is your favorite craft? I do jewelry making whenever I have the time and that's very rare with two little ones and a puppy :) I also like to crochet and I'm learning how to knit. I'm taking a two hour knitting class this month. |
Hi, Deenie! I crochet and do cross stitch when I have the time. I find that both (but especially the cross stitch) are very relaxing when I'm stressed. Having to concentrate on the pattern and count, blocks everything but my furkid out!! |
cross stitch takes a lot of patience! I've tried it a few times. I am HORRIBLE at reading patterns too, so I'm a very slow learner. I am so visual, I have to use video or watch someone else. This goes for crochet and knitting LOL |
I love to craft. I do just about every craft there is, wood, clay, sew, crochet, dolls, ornaments candles, redo furniture, I will try anything. I just refuse to say I can't do it til I try. Things I know I can't do so far are paint. (pics) yuk, not good at all. But I can stencil.Yeah I love to craft, LOL |
I crochet too, and a little crewel embroidery. I tried knitting but couldn't hold the needles properly. Jackie |
I always wanted to be a painter, but didn't have that level of talent. I did discover broken stained-glass mosaics a few years back and love it! From that I learned stained glass (foil) and I am still learning. I put both of those away except for small projects when Gizmo came into our lives. I have to find a way to do them again without exposing him to the lead, pieces of glass and chemicals. I am now learning to crochet and sew. :) |
I really don't have a craft that I do on a regular basis. I used to knit and sew MANY years ago. I no longer have a sewing machine, but have thought many times about getting one so I can try my hand a making some clothes for the furrbutts. I DO enjoy scrapbooking, but haven't had time to lately. I really need to get back into it. :) |
I love sewing simple stuff; nothing too intricate. And I enjoy making blankets for Max. Also make little fabric covers for his pad in his carrier to match just about any event, LOL....there's so many fun fabric prints these days. I love designing and creating tablescape stuff too; for one for spring, I cut off a branch of a tree (a mesquite, so the branches are thin) and then wrapped the entire branch in satin ribbon and hot glued silk flowers on it at the places where buds would be. It turned out really cute; made a few of those for family and friends. I like doing beadwork, but don't have anything that interests me at the moment. I love china painting but don't have my own kiln, and there's no classes here for it, so I can't do that now. I love finding new things to do though, so I hope others will contribute what they do too! |
I love to paint! I have painted some real cute terracotta planters for my mom and mother in law. I drew a hen and baby chicks for my mom and made the bowl part look like a nest so when its put together it looks like the hen is in the nest. For my mother in law I did a field of wild flowers. She went out and bought silk flowers for it and it looks very pretty. I have sold a few things at a craft shop but it went out of buisness a few years a go. I would love to have a kiln of my own set up in my basement so I could do pottery and paint all day! Maybe one day... |
My main crafting is the designing and sewing I do for my dog clothing, but I also enjoy interior decorating (especially for the Holidays-- I'm on a Valentine's Binge right now) and drawing, doodling, and jewelery making although I don't do that too often. I have yet to find a nice bead store in the Buffalo area. When I was in Boston, I adored BeadWorks and would go there all the time. They had the most interesting pieces! |
Oh boy, what a fun thread. My passion and profession is sewing - I have a computerized embroidery machine and love to do custom embroidery. I haven't had much time to play with the machine and software yet, but I intend to do a lot in the near future. I also LOVE to make chocolate candies - they are hand painted molded chocolate. I have over 200 different molds for all most every occasion. I guess my favorite is the 1 lb. 3-d chocolate outhouse. |

My future DIL is learning how to make the molded candy, and we've had some fun-filled evenings laughing and trying to figure it all out. The cool thing is that you get to eat your mistakes! ;) |

Not bragging, but I did get pretty good and learned some neat time saving techniques. I'll be glad to share if you get stuck. Just pm me. |
wow, so many great crafts here :) I have so many ideas, it's just putting them into action that takes me awhile. I want to crochet Guinnie a little sweater thingy, if I actually get it done, I'll share a photo. I'd love to see any of your work. Scrapbooking can be quite fun, a friend of mine does great pages and made me a book to just insert pics in of my boys. |
let me see, i like crocheting sewing now that i have the hang of it. embroidering with computerized machine, my favorite, just set it and let it go. reading |
