We are planning on getting married in a couple years. I am a little overwhelmed thinking about planning a wedding. I have never done it or helped anyone else do it. My family lives very far away also. I want to arrange an engagement party with in next couple months. Any suggestions? I am also on a very limited budget. What are the basics? What should I expect? | I can't give you any advice on a party, but I can tell you some tips for weddings.
Some how, miraculously, we planned our wedding in 3 weeks. It was a typical white dress church wedding. We didn't have a whole lot of people... it was only about 40-50. Instead of spending an arm and a leg on wedding stuff, we got supplies and decorations from craft stores like AC Moore and Michaels. My tiara and veil I got at AC Moore and the cake topper and everything we got there. We also ordered my dress on EBay. I don't really recommend that though. For the reception, we made huge amounts of rigitoni and had punch. Instead of going to a florist, we went to a local tech school that had horaculurist studies and asked them if they would make the arrangements. It ended up being a lot cheaper than going to florist and was just as pretty. I didn't hire a professional photographer. My grandfather taped the whole thing and we went and got professional pictures done after. |
