Be careful what you make your children do My oldest has been in one of those moods the past few days where NOTHING pleases her or makes her happy. Well, yesterday I'd finally had enough and decided if she was going to whine and complain all day that I would give her something to whine and complain about. I gave her the task of cleaning out the fridge. She cleaned it out alright! There is nothing left in there except 1/2 a carton of rice milk, a few potatoes, and some celery. She threw away: 1/2 a jar of chopped garlic - there was NOTHING wrong with it 2 containers of tofu - again, NOTHING wrong with it, they were to make dinner last night 1 container of vanilla almond milk - I got one glass out of it the bowl of chopped fruit I prepared yesterday morning so I wouldn't have to do it this morning 1/2 pack of veggie dogs I don't think she threw any of it away on purpose or to be spiteful. When I asked her about she started to cry and that isn't like her when she's done something on purpose. It's impossible to be mad at her when she looked at me through her tears and said, "But you just told me I'd better not throw away any of your BOWLS!" All the stores around here are closed today. Guess I will be grocery shopping first thing in the morning. |
LOL, I'm sorry, perhaps this isn't meant to be funny, but it's giving me a good laugh. Is your daughter a teenager by any chance???? I can just hear her, "but, Mom, you said..." On another note, what a healthy refrigerator full of food you had! Ouch! That stuff will be costly to replace. If someone were to clean mine out they'd be throwing out soda, wine, sandwich meat... |
Well - someone eats healthy - TOFU ? Sorry - but I'm with your daughter on this one - THAT would be in my trash too LOL Sorry she did such a good job and thanks for the laugh. Cute story |
Yep, she's a brand new teenager. Just turned 13 on August 30th. Now that I've gotten over my initial shock of opening a bare fridge, it IS funny. You can bet I won't be making her clean out the cabinets or the chest freezer though! |

LOL V, tofu is actually pretty good once you get used to the texture of it. It really has no flavor of its own so it takes on the flavor of what you season it with. It is REALLY good if you slice it and marinate it in italian salad dressing, then coat it in italian bread crumbs and fry until golden brown. Tastes just like the mozerella cheesesticks you get at restaraunts and its a lot better for you. ;) |
Throwing out the tofu sounds pretty smart to me!!!!!!;) ;) ;) lol I do not like tofu!! Send her to my house. My refrig really needs to be cleaned out. It is packed with all sorts of fattening food that I need to get rid of!!! |

ps - don't let your daughter clean out your closets ok ?? you may find yourself nekked :D :D :D |
LOL! She won't be cleaning anything else out for a while - not without supervision anyway. I wouldn't want to go around nekkid and scaring people! :p |
Lol - I did this EXACT same thing the first time my mom asked me to clean out the fridge. But it has been my job ever since....I guess I did TOO good of a job. Believe it or not I secretly like it.....it gives me some kind of sick pleasure to see a clean fridge. I actually get down on my hands and knees and disinfect and scrub the whole thing |
Oh I am glad I'm not the only one who gets pleasure in seeing a clean fridge! I use a steam cleaner to clean and disinfect mine! Makes the job so much easier. |
Yup me too, I use it on the dishwasher too and the stove! Self-cleaning my butt! The stove looks worse AFTER I use the self cleaner! :) |
OMGosh that is funny :) I think I would have probably done the same thing at 13 LOL |
