Anyone in Illinois? The state goes Smoke-Free tomorrow!!!! I'm SO excited I have a whole list of restaurants I want to go to that I could never go to before. No more going out to eat at 4:30 with the old people ;) so we could eat before it got smoky. No more having to first check if it's smoky. No more showers or wheezing when I get home because I can't breathe!!! :D I'm also so happy for all of the servers and families with kids who don't have to deal with the smoke any more! |
We have been smoke free in Ontario for so long now that I forget what it was like when we could smoke in public places????? I myself smoke but I do not enjoy a room full of smoke either...I step outside if I need to have one which is fine with me...you will really love the change although it takes a while for the smokers to get used to it..thats for sure!! lol Dawn |
Wow, that's great. Hopefully it'll actually be ENFORCED. I think Philadelphia is supposedly "smoke-free" but it's definitely not enforced. |

YAY for you!! I Wish they would make it Smoke Free In my town. I'm sorry but I can't stand cig smoke. especially with my sinuses. It makes me so nauseated. My Mom's friend smokes and her car smells like smoke. GROSS |
YAY!!! I never go to places that tend to smell like smoke but it's nice when laws like this are passed! :) Esp. in restaurants, just because some people like their food to taste like smoke, not all of us do. LOL |

Yep, I'm in Illinois and I can't wait to go into a resteraunt and enjoy a meal without the smell of cigarrette smoke. I never understood the 'smoking' section not having a door anyway...now we'll have more seating options too! Now...if they could just control cell phones and unruly children! ;) |
I feel its a pretty fair law as it stands right now...I smoke outside but I am careful not to smoke around people who dont smoke. I do smoke in my van though and outside my home. I guess unless cigarettes are outlawed all together you cant ban it completely...I do think its fair that its banned from inside public buildings, such as restaurants, bars, theaters etc..enclosed places like that are enough to make even me as a smoker sick. It's been that way where I live for a while now. There are NO restaurants that have a smoking section anymore there is one bar that I know of that you have to go outside to smoke. I think it's a great idea. While I am a smoker, I smoke outside and occasionally in my car. I HATE the way that smoke smells...especially heavy smokers...yuck! |
They passed that law here for a little while now. I love it!! I now can go into restaurants without having to ask for the non-smoking section and I can enjoy a smoke free meal!!:D |
I think AR went smoke free last year or the year before. You have to be a long way away from a building to smoke and any place (bar included) that sales food, you can not smoke. So a lot of bars here had to decide if they wanted to stop selling food to allow people to still smoke in there. I don't smoke, so I am not certain how it all works. When my grandfather was alive (he didn't die of lung cancer), he would never smoke in anyone's car, house or an eating place...he would always go outside...just as respect to others. BUT he hated (as did I) going to a place to eat and the non-smoking and smoking areas were not even really divided... |
We have been smoke free in Georgia and I love it!!! The only part I hate,is smokers love to just stand right by the door where you have to walk into the buliding and smoke!! uuhhhh |
