For my best friend's mom, and their entire family. My friend called me today bawling her eyes out - her step dad passed away this morning....Christmas morning :cry: He had a massive heart attack and died right in her mom's dining room. They tried to do CPR, but it was too late.

My friends mom called me tonight and we talked for quite a while (we are all like family) and she was just a wreck. I feel so awful for her as she is such a dear sweet Christian lady and right now she is on an emotional roller coaster.

I will be making the music CD for the funeral but right now we are still trying to decide on what songs to put on the CD. I know one will be George Strait's "I Cross My Heart" as that is the song that he sang for her (his wife) at their wedding. :cry: This is a surprise for her mom though, she doesn't know that we will be including that song on the CD, and it will be played at the end, the very last song.

Anyway, please just say a little prayer that her mom makes it through this. She has said some things already and we are very, very worried about her. So worried in fact that I think my friend and her husband and their two kids might even move in with her mom as she is not the type that can be by herself.

Thanks in advance for any prayers, I know that they will mean so much to my friend and her entire family.

This is such devastating news, and the fact that this happened on Christmas must be even harder on the family. I will keep your friend's mom in my prayers, hoping that she gets through this difficult time. :cry:

My heart goes out to your friend's Mom and her family right now. She is going to need all the strength she can get from her family and friends. After losing my dh very unexpectedly 2 yrs ago Dec. 14 and my dad 4 yrs ago Dec. 4, I know the holidays will always be painful for them. I'll keep them all in my thoughts and prayers.

So sorry to hear about your friends Mom. It is good that they have you to call on to talk to. Sometimes it is easier to do with someone that is not a relative.
I will be thinking of them today.

How sad. :( It's hard to lose loved ones but I hate to hear it happening on Christmas. Sending prayers to your friend and her family:( Wish I could offer some wonderful words of comfort but words just seem inadequate. So sorry. :(

I am sorry for the loss of your friends mom, yes it is hard to loose a loved one on Xmas ! My Stepdad died day after xmas exacly 4 yrs ago today the same way, and it this yr was the first yr my Mom was enjoying xmas a little !

I am so sorry to hear this...it is so sad, especially that it happened on Christmas.

That is sooooo sweet what you are doing for them! I think it's great that you're including that song and I'm sure that she will appreciate it so much.

This is such sad news and to happen on Christmas day. I will be praying for his wife and family. My heart breaks for them.
