Has anyone owned a Lhasa Apso?? Or know someone who has?? I know I can find info about the breed online, but I first wanted to see if anyone had personal experiences... Thanks!! Fran |
I have owned a Lhasa. My kids named him Tasty. He was the sweetest dog. He would let my kids sit on him. (they were like 2 and 3 at the time) He was such a good dog with kids. He only barked if he was outside at night when he was protecting. I loved that dog. He unfortunately got parvo and died. We were devestated. They are wonderful dogs. Their hair mats pretty easily though so you have to brush it often. |
I haven't owned one personally but my best friend has one and I deal with them all the time at work. I have actually considered getting one. They are the sweetest little dogs. Great little dogs for families. |
Oh my goodness! I love Lhasas, my mom has 2, and I lived with her for about 5 years with them. She still has them both, Sweetie and Toby and I serisouly love them. I don't have a picture of Toby here, but this is Sweetie before we shaved her for the summer. She looks kinda rough here. If you have any questions about Lhasas that I might be able to help you with just PM me. I wouldn't say that Lhasas have a set personality because Sweetie and Toby and SOO different, but special in their own ways. Sorry I just love Lhasas! |
1 Attachment(s) Oops here is Sweetie, I'm not all with it today! :) |
1 Attachment(s) Here is the one I was looking into...His name is Wags and he is from Pittsburgh, PA...Which is about 7 hours from me...They are asking 400 for him... |
Oh my gosh Wags is sooooo adorable!!!!!!!! I just want to kiss his little face! I think $400 is a pretty good price. Having grown up with Lhasas, I always considered them really small dogs, (Sweetie 12 lbs. and Toby 17lbs) and then I got Baby and she is so tiny compared to them. I always loved sleeping with Sweetie and Toby though because since they are bigger they are more durable. Sweetie loves being held onto while she is sleeping. She is too darn cute. Fran, I think I have to go over to my mom's house tonight to get some mail I have there, so if you would like I could take some pictures and maybe a video of Sweetie and Toby for you to see??? If you want, just let me know! |

All the Lhasa's that I deal with at work are family dogs. They are great with kids. My best friend also has one and her reason for getting one was because she has kids and a lhasa is a little more durable with kids. Its all in how you raise the dog and how they are with kids most of the time. That little one that you are looking at is adorable. I would take him home in a heart beat. The price seems great. I know my friend paid twice that for her little girl. I find that grooming these guys is easier than a yorkie but that is just from my groomer stand point. |
Lhasa Apso Pics: Sweetie and Toby 2 Attachment(s) Well I took lots of pictures at my mom's plus took a video. Here is the link to the video : Video of Sweetie and Toby The rest of the pictures are on my Jusspress page at : I'm in some of these pics so please don't laugh at me, I know I am not looking so put together in them, I hadn't done my hair or make-up....lol... I know Yt members don't care about that right...lol... Pics of Sweetie and Toby Lhasas are really wonderful dogs. I know someone posted earlier about them not being good with children...well Sweetie and Toby HATE children. They were never around them and are now absolutely mortified of them. My guess is it's all how you raise them. But i think that really applies to any breed; you can make any puppy nice, and any puppy mean. Anyways, hope everyone like these pics. Oh also I'm attaching a few pics.... |
I had one, and he was a great dog. Loved to be cuddled and fussed with. |
