Our ice storm 4 Attachment(s) We are in the NW corner of MO and got hit pretty major with that ice storm. We haven't had electricity since 6:30 am. Tues. morning. We got a generator plugged in last night, so now I can have a tv on and my computer. :) We freeze the deep freeze overnight so nothing thaws in there. We don't have running water because the pump in the well works off electricity. But, we do have a wood stove so we're toasty warm and can cook pretty much anything just fine. Here's a few pictures of what our battle zone looked like. Today, we got an additional 6 - 7 in. of snow on top of all this! |
Oh my gosh Steph....stay safe. |

Wow please stay safe:) we have up to 12 inches comming tonight and tom. |
Amazing!! How to people keep their pipes from freezing if they can't get a generator? Looks beautiful but scary. Stay safe! |
wow,did you notice the tree above your son's? head in the first set of pictures the 4 th one??? |
Those trees aren't actually above him, but behind him. Needless to say, we haven't let the kids out with all this. It's much too dangerous. Steven and my dh went out and basically bulldozed the yard with the tractor to get all the major stuff out of the yard. I've only ventured out a couple of times because of all the ice falling. Now the snow is weighing it down and causing more problems. People that don't have generators and other heat sources are pretty much SOL. Some people haven't lost power at all through this and others have been like us and out for 5 days. Dh's parents have a house in town, but they go to Arizona for the winter. So he's gone in there and checked on everything for them. So far, they've done pretty good. They have power back on in there this evening. Atleast we can go take showers now!! If we don't have power in the morning, we're going to go in and shower. Plus, I have mounds and mounds of laundry to do. We're running pretty scarce on clean underwear! lol So I plan to take in a few loads of laundry as well! |
Wow, wow, wow. This is amazing. I guess living on west coast you don't realize the power of nature. You have some beautiful pics....but wow. I'm not really sure what to say. Please stay inside and warm. Hope you get to shower and do laundry soon. lol Thanks for posting these pics. Sending you a WARM hug and SUN. |
Thanks for posting more pictures!!!! Your pictures are just beautiful ....I saved one of them as my desktop picture!!! :D :D :D It is very pretty to look at but I would hate to be dealing with all the problems it has caused. |
Wow that looks pretty bad. I'm glad your ok. |
