the snoring husband.....
 
I was SOOOO looking forward to sleeping in this morning because i got no sleep the night before last because of dh snoring. well, here I am at 6:30 am wide awake. why? yep...he's snoring.

I have told him over and over again to go to the doctor. he admits that he should, but never does. he refuses to try the breathe strips that is supposed to help.

I am ok if I fall asleep before him...I don't hear him when I am sleeping. but if something wakes me up, I can't go back to sleep with him snoring like that. so once again, I was up most of the night..and here I sit on my couch this morning.

Have you tried earplugs? Also, I can't remember the name ... but you can buy a strip that goes accross the bridge of the nose that helps open nasel passages a little..... and does help with snoring. Does anyone know the name of them? I have heard that they do work! ;)

yeah, they are the breathe right strips. like i said, he refuses to try them.

i have thought about the ear plugs. I may go get some.

I could have wrote this word for word. I complain about this all the time. My husband snores soooo loud you can hear him at the other end of the house. After the first of the year and when I get some painting done, I'm going to move him to his own room. I can't keep losing so much sleep everynight. I usually wake up once during the night and can't go back to sleep for the snoring. He also refuses to use the strips. I've tried the ear plugs, they are not comfortable and I'm afraid I won't hear something I really need to hear, does that make sense?

totally makes sense, and I have thought the exact same thing about the ear plugs. I am just afraid to use them when my daughter is home especially.

I've been through that with my hubby too. I usually try pulling the pillow, or giving him a jab to get him to stop. LOL

My boyfriend does it bad too and I usually ALWAYS fall asleep after him. He's such a deep sleeper too and he snores the worst when he's on his back so I have to "beat the crap out of him" to get him to turn on his side so he'll stop. It really annoys me if we're cuddling before we fall asleep and he goes before me and starts snoring but I'm comfy and don't wanna tell him to move. I've also asked him to try the nasal strips but he doesn't think they'll work. Grrr

I hear ya! I can't stand it when my husband snores,have you tried waking him up to turn over?

Mandee not to worry you all but snoring can be a sign of sleep Apnea http://www.helpguide.org/life/sleep_apnea.htm Has he been tested?
They also have sprays not sure if they work though.

his father has sleep apnea and dh really thinks he needs to be tested for it. he just hasn't gone in. not sure why...maybe he is afraid or something :rolleyes:

I find that my DH only snores if he's sleeping in certain positions. If he wakes me up, I poke him, :p and then he rolls over and stops, at least long enough for me to get back to sleep. I know it's interrupting both your sleep cycles, but maybe he'll get tired of you poking him and then go to the Dr.?

Apnea causes other medical conditions such as high blood pressure. You should def insist he gets tested. Snoring is only a symptom of Apnea. The other med problems it causes are the real danger.

my husband snores it wakes me up i just give him a little nudge and he rows over and stops for a little bit then i go to sleep ,

Mandee~ if you get earplugs, get the type that look like little marshmallows. You compress them and then put them in your ears and they expand inside your ear and are much better than the ones that (usually are colored) and are a different type of foam and are tapered at one end. I have the same problem; if I fall asleep first, it doesn't bother me, but if I wake up and hear my husband even breathing too loud, I can't get back to sleep and stay awake for hours. I've used all different types of earplugs and these are the best! Sweet dreams!
