Update on hubby and grandson Hubby was having chest pains again this morning, so went for a cardio stress test. He walked for 12 minutes and the doc said he's good for 5 years. I don't really get it, nor do I trust that test because he had that same test a few months ago and it showed a false negative...in other words, saying all is fine and dandy, when it wasn't. Joran is slowly healing. Poor kid still has a lot of pain, but he has his pain killers which helps. He went to the doctor today and his stitches aren't ready to come out yet, but everything else looks good so far. My daughter told the doctor about the stupid things that went on at the hospital and he was really mad about that...especially when he heard the nurse had Joran sit, when orders were absolutely no sitting. It also hurt Joran so bad. I am so disgusted with our poor excuse for a hospital and some, not all, of the people that work there. What ever happened to patient care? Ugh! I'll have Joran here tomorrow! He's going to spend the day and night. I'll be catering to his every need and desire and he wants me to bake pie crust cookies! |
Sure hope your grandbaby fully recovers soon... Im sure you'll be there to give him the TLC he needs tomorrow :) I'd keep trying to get other opinions where hubby is concerned. In some places, its really unfortunate about what has become of our healthcare system and the physicians who run em'... because taking one doc's word for it these days, can be a big mistake. Hope all works out for you... God bless you and your family :D |
I would get a second opinion on hubby. That is really scarey. I know you will spoil that grandson tomorrow. As for the health care system, the hospital I was in recently was HORRIBLE. I told them I wouldn't pay my bill or have anyone in my family every go there again. It is still in litigation. Of course, they have all the insurance money already paid. |
Sending prayers for a complete recovery for both of them!!!! Poor guys, both have been through sooooo much!! |

Patient care??? Do they really know what that is? Take care of you, Connie. That is important also .... xxoo |
Thanks for the update!! I would want ta second opinion too. Poor Joran, but I know he will be very spoiled tomorrow!!! |
Oh goodness!!!! What a horrible experience!!! Thank you so much for an update...I have been worried. My thoughts and prayers are still going out to both of them and the family as well! |
Sending prayers and wishes for a speedy recovery to them both. The state of our medical care in this country is deplorable. I recently started suffering from a host of issues including debilitating fatigue and a missing period for five months. I saw my OB/GYN to be sure that I wasn't pregnant (figured it couldn't be that seeing as my tubes were tied). I had read bunch of stuff on the web and came across thyroid issues and a lot of the symptoms fit. She ran the blood test and it came back "Within Normal Range" so that was the end of pursuing that avenue she decided I just needed some meds to restart my cycle. She also said and I quote "the fatigue has to be a by product of you having three children and working full time"...that was too easy of an answer for me. I kept pushing and finally my general practicioner sent me for a thyroid scan. Turns out I am Hypothyroid and the thing is huge. Now under treatment for that. It's amazing in hindsight to see how easily they push things to the side and just pass it off on typical things. I say keep on and get several other opinions. I think with the advent of these dang HMO's the doctors have gotten very lazy. |
I just went through the chest pains with my husband last week. A nitro pill stopped the pains. His enzymes were fine in his blood and his stress test came out negative. Tom does have back/neck/spinal issues and his doctor told him there's a good chance those can be causing the chest pains. So he's going to go to our chiropractor more and if things don't improve, probably go in for a MRI (I think) |

I didn't say all this to scare you...just to make you realize that if he continues to have any chest pains, shortness of breath, nausea, sleeps a lot...get him back to a doctor that will rule out heart disease for sure. Too many tests show false negatives and it upsets me when people have these symptoms and they go by tests that aren't reliable. Good luck and I hope his problems aren't heart related! *HUG* |
Man Connie - I cant believe they aren't getting better care at the hospital - that just SUCKS ! With the way our health care system is these days the doctors should be bending over backwards for EVERY SINGLE PATIENT - they're getting rich off us all and it makes no sense that patient care is so lacking I've been praying for you - I was so glad to see this update - and wishing your family speedy recoveries and a GREAT New Year with a fresh start - love you - hugs |
Hoping your Hubby and grandson recover soon! |
