I have heard alot of really good things about curves. I myself have never been there, I belong to Bally's in my area. They have a separate area just for women if you prefer to work out without men but I dont mind either way. |
villette, yes it really does work  i have lost about 10 pounds in just 1 month of going to curves and they always weigh you and measure you to check your progress, they have diet plans and shakes, vitamins all kinds of stuff i really do like it!i have alot of fun whenever i go. i weigh about 115 now because i went on vaca for 2 wks to vegas and went to every free buffet i can find :D but i am already loosing again. so you should check it out. you pay 39.99 for 1 yr contract and you can go to any curves worldwide whenever you want so you won't miss out on working out. listen to me i sound like a spokesperson. hehehe but i just love it and know that it does work. |
I have an aunt-in-law who does curves and loves it. She has lost weight and says she feels great. She loves how it is set up, and has even made some friends there. |
You sold me - thank you - I've been meaning to post that cause I don't know anyone who actually goes - I'm LOW energy and it could be just the place I need - it's been years since I worked out ... unless you count running to the bathroom cause I've been online too long :) the price sounds right - and I LOVE hearing you lost weight going - I have a wedding with my ex in 5 weeks - I may have just enough time to drop the 10 lbs I want to lose....vain aren't I ? :D :D |

I do Tae Bo a couple times a week and walk about 5 miles per day. I park really far away from school so I have no choice but to walk. I know some people who have had results with Curves, but to me, its not worth it because you spend a lot of time sitting around and waiting for someone else to work out while you watch. Also, they donate much of their profits (membership fees) to some political organizations that I would rather DIE than donate to. |

I went to Curves with one of my friends as her "visitor" for a few days and we sat in a circle while one person did the exercise and then the next and the next. I got my turn, but most of the time I was sitting there waiting. It just seemed like a waste of time. Maybe this was just the one I went to ??? |
lol...ya it probably was just that one you went to because i never heard or seen that before. when you first go there they give you a "tour" of the place and show you how to use the machines. but after that you just work out on your own :) |
I went to curves when they first opened up here in my area, it was okay, the work out to me was too lite didn't feel like i was working out didn't sweat a bit. but that could be only me. I workout all the time I sit on my computer and watch workout tapes say to myself wow that looks easy, maybe one day I will get my lazy butt to work out I have a tradmill and a bowflex that I haven't even used.. But my goal is too start cuz I have gained a lot of pounds. |
I haven't done anything for quite a few years. But this september my husband and I are starting yoga together. The teacher is someone who has skills in Qi Gong (sp?), Tai Chi, classic and modern yoga etc etc - so she mixes what she think is best. We look very much forward to it. We quit smoking 4 years ago both of us and need to get in better shape as we grow older. |
I work out 6 days a week. I do weights...upper body Monday, Wednesday, Friday, ....lower body, Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday. I do tennis twice a week and elliptical twice a week for the aerobic exercise. I also do yoga on Tuesdays and I walk a lot. |

I'm running a race this weekend- 9.3 miles! I've been training for it since April. It's a HUGE deal in the area. Actually it's the largest 15K race in the country- it's called the Boilermaker Road Race. I think there are around 10,700 people running this year's race. The entire course is lined with thousands and thousands of spectators. They also have a competition between the sections of the city (North, South, East, and West) to see who has the best block party (cheering section) throughout the race. I'm so psyched to run it!! After that, I'm going to begin training for a half-marathon. Hey, it's only 4 more miles, right?! I've been slacking with my running since I got Olivia a month ago, but I'm going to step it up a bit after the race. My sister is determined that we're going to do the marathon in Disney World in 2006. (Since it's in like January, I think, I highly doubt it, though!) |
