Rudolph/Reindeer Cookies ??? I recently went to a cookie walk - and one of the cookies I picked up was what I'm going to call Rudolph Cookies - I'm trying to figure out how to make them. Anyone know about these or something similar?? The cookie part was pretty small - not sure exactly what the dough was - I'm thinking a chocolate chip dough without the choc. chips added or even a sugar cookie dough would work. Then the decorating part - there were 2 tiny chocolate chips ( I think turned upside down - point down) for the eyes and a red M & M for the nose - this was the traditional ones, but I'm thinking the new mint M & M's would be good too. Then the traditional pretzel shape pretzels were used - like broken in 2 for the antlers. I would like to make these, but don't know at what point to add the extras -- do you think the dough should bake for a bit before adding the decorations or maybe bake all the way and immediately when removing the cookies are removed and still soft - then apply the face & antlers?? (ok, as I'm typing this that actually makes the most sense.) Anyone make these?? Have a recipe to share? I thought these would be fun to send off to my daughter at college to share with her friends. Got some great cookies at the cookie walk - wish several of them came with recipes though!!! |
1 Attachment(s) I've got it....and I sent it to my stepmom and she already made them for a party; she said they were really cute and tasted good! I plan on making them this afternoon! My daughter loves anything with Oreos. Are Oreo Snowballs made with cocunut?? (I'm not a fan, but she likes it) I'm looking for a really soft Ginger Snaps recipe These sound interesting Andes Mint Chip/Chocolate Chip cookies And I have never heard of these - or by a different name  Forgotten Kisses and Peanut Butter Blossoms |
Christmas Mice 1 Attachment(s) My friend did these for Christmas one year. They are just adorable! Attachment 175985 CHRISTMAS MICE Needed: Maraschino cherries with stems hershey kisses sliced almonds almond bark, chocolate Melt the almond bark according to directions. Dip maraschino cherry (be sure to remove most wetness) by stem into chocolate. Adhere hershey kiss onto cherry opposite the stem (this becomes the mouse's head-stem becomes tail). Between the hershey kiss and cherry, stick two sliced almonds in to represent ears. Display together (they look like a little mouse army) with the poem 'Twas the Night Before Christmas... Very very adorable. You can also use small tube of gel icing to add little eyes on the mouse's head. The response from people who see these is incredible! Here's another site http://www.thisweeknews.com/?story=s...unkenmice.html |
Wonderful!! You all are so good!! A girl needs help and she gets at least 4 recipes!! I better eat some lunch before I start baking, or there won't be any dough for cookies ;) THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH! |

Actually- I NEVER bake...I can COOK, but the "exact" ness of baking drives me crazy-I like to cook, where I can add things to taste, and measuring is all approximate :p I had 3 friends with me yesterday, and we baked from about 10 AM until 4, then went to the mall and dinner, and then came back and frosted all the sugar cookies at 10 PM! It was a LONG day! |

I posted the Oreo Snowballs on the other thread ;) They don't have coconut...I bet you could roll them in coconut too after the white chocolate though if you wanted to! I can probably find a ginger snap recipe for you-let me look around. The ones we made yesterday were actually "Old Fashioned Molasses Cookies"-but they taste like Ginger snaps....They're dense, and not really soft. I know the kind of cookie you're looking for, and I prefer them! The Andes Mint Chocolate Chip cookies were actually a "cheat" recipe by a friend of mine who doesn't really bake...she bought a premade dry chocolate chip cookie mix, and added store bought Andes Mint chunks to it! They're AWESOME-and they were super easy to make! Peanut Butter Blossoms are the ones that are Peanut butter cookies with the Hershey's Kiss in the center... I think they have many names :) Forgotten Kisses are a meringue style cookie-I posted the recipe in the other thread for these. |

Those are cute-I've made those before, as well as a mice recipe with shortbread bodies, almond ears, and a red licorice lace tail..I'll see if I can find it! |
Just a note for anyone else who might be candy-challenged:p . If you're going to make the reindeer cookies, instead of buying a bag of regular M&M's and going thru the entire bag trying to find red and green ones (like I did last night:embarasse ), M&M's has a bag called "Happy Holiday Mix" that's the milk chocolate m&m's in only red and 2 shades of green (I found this out when I had to buy another bag b/c I didnt' have enough red ones for the nose:rolleyes: ). Of course, most people probably already knew this:cool: |
Susy Interested in oreo snowball recipe. I will have to check out the cookie recipe post. I made these reindeer cookies with my kids when they were smaller and hit was a huge hit. They are very easy to make also. |
Those all look YUMMY!! :dribble: We decided not to do our cookie exchange this year...everyone has been too busy, BUT we are planning one around Valentine's Day. |
1 Attachment(s) Reindeer Cookies (Version 1) Ingredients: • Nutter Butter Cookies • Peanut Butter • Raisins • Small Pretzel Twists • Red M & M Candies with Peanuts Directions: 1. Place a small amount of peanut butter on the top of a Nutter Butter cookie and then put a small pretzel twist on the peanut butter (letting it stick beyond the cookie) for antlers. Put two more dots of peanut butter and add raisins for eyes. Finally put a dot of peanut butter on the bottom part of the cookie and add a red M & M for a nose. You can cover the nutter butter cookies in white chocolate or chocolate instead of peanut butter.....Or we just used the plain cookie. Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer Cookies Very CUTE little cookies that will bring a smile to the little ones faces! Great little cookies to send to school on "Christmas Party" day! You will be the hit of the classroom! (hint: you can use iceing bag with piping tip, and a frosting that dries hard to stick on the eyes and nose, I use a stiff buttercream frosting colored the color of the eyes and nose, it works faster for me than the melted chocolate) 32 cookies 33 min 30 min prep Change to: cookies US Metric 4 ounces chocolate-flavored candy coating 96 thin pretzel sticks 1 (16 ounce) package Nutter Butter sandwich cookies 64 miniature M&M baking bits (blue, green, or brown) 32 cinnimon red cinnamon candies or red miniature M&M baking bits Microwave the chocolate in a small glass dish on high for 3 minutes, stirring once. For each Rudolph dip 2 prezel sticks in chocolate snd stict to top of each sandwich cookie, forming large antlers. Break one pretzle in half, dip n chocolate and place pretzel half next to longer pretzel sticks, forming antlers. Dip one side of blue, green, or brown mini M&M's in melted candy coating and place, coated side down, on cookies for the eyes. Dip one side of the cinnimon red hot, or red M&M in candy coating, and place on cookies, coated side down, for the nose. Attachment 177568 |
