You know, we stay in hotels a LOT (we lived in one for a couple of months) and when I think about seeing the housekeeping carts in the hallway, I honestly can't recall seeing ANY cache of clean glasses on them (nor dirty ones), so even if I hadn't SEEN the video, I'd believe it:eek: ! I am always taking my own bottled water (or using the bottled water that a lot of places provide) from now on...and I'd never use the coffee maker in the room:( . Geeze, the things we take for granted, esp. when you're paying $150+ a night...you'd just EXPECT clean glassware). |

I heard about that here in Atl..they went to a couple of hotels. Then they were featured on the radio and flight attendentants called in and said they would use the coffe pots to clean their undies and bras on expected layover flghts! GAG ME! |
Judging by all of your reactions, I don't think I should click on that link... |
The video is pretty gross. Bottom line, you DO NOT want to use the hotel provided drinking glasses. That would include major hotel chains. BTW - a while back now, we saw a news story on how unclean hotel rooms truly are. To drive home the point, they used an ultraviolet light to find ..... a substance. EVERYTHING in the hotel room glowed - even the telephone! |
When we stay in hotels, I don't use their cups and appliances for that very reason. You don't know if they're REALLY clean or not. I don't walk barefoot on the carpet either. I think I'm going to start bringing my own blankets and pillows during hotel stays. I mean...who knows what else is dirty?! |

That is so gross! my friend is staying for 2 weeks at a hotel because she is away for a class. I am glad she didn't see this before she went. She is very germophobic. She takes her own pillows and blankets, towels, everything. I guess that is a smart idea! |

That is so discusting! I will never drink out of those glasses again. At least where we are going to be staying is a Holiday Inn and has the plastic cups. Ewww...just gross! |
Just one word........YUCK!:2omg: |
I'm disgusted :thumbdown |
eww! Normally the places I stay have the plastics cups. I ALWAYS bring a sheet to throw over the bed and sleep on top of it with a blanket. I take a garbage bag with me, and when its time to leave I put the bedding in it and when I get home it promptly goes in scalding hot water with bleach. And I travel with a huge container of Clorox wipes. |
ewwww gross! What about really good hotels?? I couldn't see the video but read some of the comments on the site. I've never drank from any of the cups in hotel rooms, i never remember seeing any. If there were, i didn't use them 'cause my mom used to always tell me not to drink their stuff. She also always told me to drink with a straw at restaurants cause you don't know what diseases ppl have that drink from them or how well they wash them. You can never trust other ppl with your food, etc. i guess. The only stuff i drink are bottled drinks that are closed and i make sure they were never opened by listening for the sound the cap makes when you open it. I am such a germaphobe also so some of this stuff creeps me out. I do know though that when i went to the resort in DR the maids fixed the rooms so quickly that you just know they didn't clean them that well. I also don't sit on their toilets, i put paper! Now im going to start taking my own pillow and blankets |
