say a prayer... on this day, independance day, i wanted to remind everyone to say a little prayer for our soldiers risking their lives for us. they are putting their lives on hold for us. they are getting on a plane not knowing if they are coming back. they are some of the bravest people in our lives. even if you don't agree with what they're doing, they're still doing it for you so say a little prayer. they are helping us remain the wonderful free country that we are. so say a little prayer. say a prayer for the soldiers their families and this country. also if you can find it in your heart say a little prayer for the families over in Iraq. who's towns are being distroyed. we are both countries with people, people who want the same thing, freedom. they want freedom and we are preserving ours. so jsut say a little prayer and keep them in your thoughts. sorry this is so long but i can't stop thinking about our family friend's son VJ who just came home. in 2 weeks he has to go back. so please just keep these heros in your thoughts and prayers. |
That's an excellent point Megan! We prayed for the soldiers today before lunch. And I reminded my children that they are not able to spend the 4th with their families and they are also in a very dangerous place. |

Megan: Thanks for posting this yesterday. This very thing was on my mind also. Until my son went to the sandbox, I didn't realize what parents and spouses go through emotionally. Your thoughtfulness is admirable!! Semper Fi! Proud Marine Mom of Cpl Brian - proudly serving in Iraq May 2005/2006 |
carter's mom- i meant to tell you before what your son is doing is wonderful!! it takes a very brave person to do that!!! when he comes home give him a big hug for us!! tell him thank you! (oh yea i saw the pics of him he is very handsom) :p |
Thanks Megan! As a mom, I can only support his decision to pursue his career choice. Its tough sometimes however. I try my best to be really upbeat when I am on the webcam with him, on the phone with him and through AIM chats. I want him not to worry about me or what is going on here at home. I need him to be able to react as he was taught in training and not to cloud his mind with thoughts of me while he is trying to work. I don't know where he got his determination from . . . I don't think I could have done what he is doing at his age! I'm extremely proud of him!! Thanks you soooo much!! Lisa |
i can understand your worry. well, not as much as you do but i'm defenatly worried about VJ. i really wish he didn't have to go back but i know he does. its going to be so hard on everyone when its time for him to leave... |
