I'm so annoyed!!!! Our neighbors are terrible!!!!!! I've complained several times to our landlord about them. We live in an apartment complex and they live above us and they are so loud and inconsiderate. They stomp very loudly, their tv always over powers our voices, tv, radio, you name it, the husband and wife fight often and the dad is always either yelling or talking loudly to their baby. I can't take anymore of this nonsense!!!! I don't pay rent to put up with it. The landlord says she will take care of it, but obviously it doesn't mean a thing. There has been times they were fighting and stomping around and it woke up my husband and I or our baby. Tilly barks because they are so loud. Last year (yes, it's been going on that long) they were walking so hard that it knocked things off our walls, causing things to break. What else is there to do? I absolutely can't stand it anymore. |
thats pretty bad to knock things off your wall. my daughter has the same problem and her lanlord says they will take care of it he never does .her and her husband is saving to buy a house.see if you could call the owner not the lanlord. |
You could do one of two things.. 1. Go up and nicely tell them that they are really loud and maybe they dont understand that it wakes your family up and makes your dog bark..and nicely ask them to quiet down. Also contact the board in charge of the landlord tenant act and see what you can do about your landlord...she HAS to do soemthing for you...and if she wont I would report her.. 2. Call the police and tell them the neighbours are causing a disturbance and have the police talk to them..but I would go the first route first as you want to try and get along ok with them. Dawn |
ARGGGGHHHHHH!!!! I KNOW HOW YOU FEEL!!!!! :( :(  We live in a converted house. There is a seperate entrance to the downstairs and upstairs and it's now two apartments. We in the bottom one and the man above us drives me to complete despair!!! :( The man who moved in a couple of weeks before me last year was great, so quiet and a really pleasant man. We had a load of problems with our neighbour on the left of us and people on the street were ALWAYS complaining about her. She would have gangs of people hanging out on her front garden smoking, drinking, shouting and swearing and had no respect for others who live her. A neighbour confronted her once and she treatened to burn her house down so no dared say anything directly to her after that. She got kicked out eventually and then the street was nice and peaceful. BUT... the man upstairs moved out and the upstairs was empty for a couple of weeks. A man across the road who lives with his elderly mother, (his mother was one of the people who used to complain about the girl next door), moved in upstairs. I thought he would be really considerate to have above us because he's known what it's like to have neighbours who has no respect. Let me tell you... this man, who is in his late 30s, is the MOST inconsiderate man I have EVER met! He plays his music so loud I can clearly hear it over the tv, he stomps about and has no carpet and the speaker in his flat is from a nightclub and is on the floor above our bedroom!!! He has young teenage lads hanging around him that are school age! I've said something to him about his music a couple of weeks ago because I'd literally had enough, the floorboards above me were vibrating, and he was really apologetic and couldn't apologise enough... then no less than 4 days later, he starts doing it again! My BF went to complain to him and this man threatened to hit my BF!!! We're more grown up than him at 25 (me) and 22 (BF) and he's just a kid! So I understand and I can only imagine how is it with a young child too, (ours is due in January so I'll know myself then)... I completely sympathise with you... I know exactly how upsetting, frustrating and irrating it is. :( I've hit the point now where I realise that there is nothing we can do except wait to move. I hope you have better luck. |

I know what you mean. When me and hubby lived in an apartment the neighbors would sweep their floor at 3am. Of course you could hear it right through the walls. It was a duplex. They did not care we had to get up and go to work. I think they stayed up all night and slept all day. To get back at them, I turned our alarm clock on full volume and put it up to the bedroom wall with a pillow over it on our side and let it go off from the time we left in the morning until we got home. Their bedroom was on the other side of ours. After that we never heard the sweeper at 3am. I think they got the hint. Apartment life can stink sometimes. Hang in there. |

Try #1. If that doesn't work, try #2 (over and over again if you have to). No one deserves to be miserable in their own home. :) |

BTW, congrats on the baby. My son will be 1 this January, I was in your shoes last year at this time. :) |

Yes!!! Chase is such a wonderful little guy. I can't wait to see him on Christmas morning and on his birthday. He will be 1 on the 17th of January. Wow! Where does the time go? |
Call the Police and report noise violations often, especially late at night. I know here, being a college town, police are always responding to noise complaints |
Providing alcohol and drugs to minors is sooooooooooooo illegal...here just selling or obtain cigarettes is a $5000.00 fine..can you imagine what it would be for giving them illegal substances?? Id report his sorry, cant find a friend my own age, butt!! Weirdo!! Grrrr that makes me mad..I hope my kids never run into dirtbags like him!! Dawn |

Neighbor update..... LOL I know nobody cares to hear about my neighbor drama, but it keeps me from yelling at them, so I'm gonna vent! :D They were being their usual, loud, and I told hubby they were about on my last nerve, so he went up there and told them to please keep it down, our baby was asleep, and we didn't want him to wake up. They were like oh sorry, we'll keep it down. It lasted until this morning. They were back to being loud. So I take my son to my mom's and go groom a couple of dogs and when I come home the loud lady upstairs is outside walking a golden retriever mix. Yeah, they got a dog. That poor dog is gonna be stuck upstairs in that apartment. I feel so sorry for the large dogs that these nutty people bring into these apartments. 90% of the dogs here are 40lbs or more. They need room to run and play daily. Most tenants walk their dog long enough for the dog to potty and it's back inside they go. The people across the hall have a HUGE 75lb dog. It looks miserable, it stares out the window 24/7. But back to my original vent.... the complaining didn't help so I guess we will try the landlord again. She wont do squat. Thanks everyone for letting me complain. HeHe I feel better. :p |
