MY life is just TOO GOOD..... .....

It is a beautiful Sunday morning....my hubby has gone golfing....I am getting tons of things done around the house.....my daughter and her family are going to the in-laws for the day after church.......(no babysitting!!!!)....Lil Bit has had a bath and looks GREAT (thanks Villette)......

AND...........

My house is SURROUNDED with the smell of 4th of July B-B-Q cooking across the street at the volunteer fire department.

This is an annual event....they raise thousands of dollars selling B-B-Q on the 4th......everyone in the community donates hams or money to buy the hams......they cook it very S-L-O-W...like for 12 hours.....and chop it up and then sell it tomorrow......

I already have my order in ........

So....tonight, when everyone gets back home and settled in....everyone is coming over to swim...sit on the deck.....SNIFF THE AIR..... ....and eat some home-made ice cream..........

We will be able to see the big fireworks from the deck tonight......

Then, tommorrow, on the 4th of July.....I am on 24 hour call for the entire county.....back to reality!!!!!

Hope you all have a great holiday.....please, be safe......and anyone close enough know you are invited to come and sit on the deck (& swim) with us.....I have a GIANT fenced yard and kiddy locks on the gate to keep the furbabies IN!!!!!

I know exactly where Gaffney, SC is. I lived in Florence SC until last Nov, when I moved to Sanford NC.

Sounds like heaven!! Wish we were down South ... might just surprise you!! :) We have found a decent BBQ place here in Colorado ... it will be relatively quiet except for the bzillion fireworks! Poor Toto is just terrified of them ... in spite of our trying to keep her calm! Have a wonderful and safe 4th!! I am thoroughly convinced that noone can BBQ quite like firemen!! ;)

I just took Apple & Lil Bit outside for a bit......

At first they took off running across the yard (as usual)...then they SUDDENLY STOPPED!!!!!!! ....both noses UP IN THE AIR...not moving a muscle.......

Now they are craving B-B-Q, too!!!!! :tongue:
