Probably not a lot of help, but I always have listed my job duties on a resume, so the prospective employer would know exactly what I have done in the past. Also put down any computer skills or training you have, that always seems to be a big plus-good luck!!! |

That is a really good start. Now, can you take each job and list what you did that would match or be consistent with the requirements of the job you are seeking? For example, at Home Depot you worked as a cashier. As a cashier, I am sure that part of your role was customer service. List what your job duties entailed. "Responsible for ringing up sales, processing exchanges and returns, assisting customers to find what they need in the store,....etc." Make what you have done in the past be a good fit with what you want to do. This is the time to sell yourself. |

Sorry!! just saw this! I was told, by a career center, to list all your experiences. I noticed that you have some of the same experiences in a few of your jobs so, you are really repeating yourself. First, you need to have an objective (why you feel you are the right candidate for the job) then list your experiences, then your places of employment (with dates) then schooling. If you want I can send you the resume that I used. just pm me your e-mail address and I will forward it to you. Maybe it will help you. if not...that's ok too...what ever you decide I wish you good luck! |
I'm glad so many people are helping you out. I'm not good with resumes, but give me a term paper and I'd could help you. |

This is far too much and repeating. Your resume should only be 1 page max. The very top you should have your Name, address and phone # You need an intro : Why you are applying for this particular job Experiences: Cumulative Past Employment: List jobs you had and when, also include any gaps of employment...and why you were unemployed. As far as a cover letter, again, name/addy/phone. Address it to the hiring person, or To Whom It May Concern. Be short, sweet, well spoken and explain yourself and your desire for the job. Don't ramble on, and orient the cover letter to the job (as well as the resume). If you get an interview, make sure that you send a thank you letter, this gets them looking at your resume/application again. Also, on applications...dont leave ANYTHING blank. That is how they weed out ppl. Best of luck! |
