If I went to someone's house and they forgot I was a vegetarian I would just eat whatever didn't have meat in it. A lot of times people are nervous about feeding a vegetarian but I am very easy to please. I will also always bring something that I know I can eat. I learned that the hard way when I went to my SIL's house this Thanksgiving and literally the only thing without meat was the cranberry sauce.:p It was a 3 hour trip so I hadn't brought a dish but I'm going to buy an insulated casserole dish so that situation wont come up again. The smell of meat isn't appetizing to me but it doesn't gross me out. maybe because since my husband eats it every night. I don't think you sound strange at all- you just know what you're comfortable with.;)

Okay this may be a REALLY silly question but will I gain weight if I make the switch. When I think of a vegetarian I think of only eatting pasta and potatos, I guess that is so silly but where do you get your major protein fill from?

Thanks Nikki, I am going to order that now and I may just have to borrow that book. You know Chris and Troy are pretty much a lot alike aren't they? LOL!! :p

No, I've actually lost some weight. I'm not eating a lot of pasta and potatoes though.:p Actually I did eat potatoes last night... yummy! I've been playing with unfamiliar whole grains like quinoa and I make veggie casseroles and soups and salads. We did do tacos one night with Boca crumbles and Troy was willing to give it a try and he ended up liking it.

Well that makes sense....I guess you get the protein from the whole grains.

Those tacos sounds good too. :D

Wow, this is an oldy but goody.:D I just skimmed the 3rd page. Caren (sims822257) isn't on YT much anymore but we're friends irl. She went veggie right after this thread and she looks FANTASTIC. I know nobody stops eating meat for their appearance but what a nice side effect.
