How many of you are traveling for Thanksgiving?
 
I was just wondering how many of us are traveling for Thanksgiving? If you are traveling ....tell us about it!!!!

We live in Charlotte, NC....we are driving about 3 hours to Maggie Valley, NC where my family lives and so does my DH's family. Buddy will be going with us!!!! We will be staying at my Mom's. We are doing something new this year....we have reservations at a really nice restaurant for Thanksgiving lunch!!!

That sounds like tons of fun!

We are staying home but my parents and my little sister drove all the way down from NY to be here for Thanksgiving.

About as far as I will go on Thanksgiving is to my MIL's house which is less than 10 miles from our home. I will leave the traveling to those more adventerous.

We are going to bf's parents house in Staten Island, NY. It's only a little over an hour away dependent on traffic.

Isn't Maggie Valley close to Lake Junaluska? I used to go to Lake J. when I was younger and loved it. It is so pretty up that way!

We aren't traveling. We were supposed to go visit my nephew and his wife in Washington,GA, but there was some drama with her family so Mom and I are just staying home.

We still have to find a restaurant that is open, or else we might end up grilling hamburgers.

All of you that are traveling, have safe trips!

I used to go there for youth retreats all the time. It IS gorgeous!!

I've already had my Thanksgiving, so I won't be traveling. I'll be catching up on school work...ALMOST the end of the semester! YAY!

Not to derail the thread to much, but Did you ever go up for Youth in Missions?

No, our youth group went every year for the Holston Baptist Retreat. That's the only thing I did there. But wow, it was so gorgeous!

As far as i'm traveling is to my grandmothers(moms mom) and thats about 20 minutes or less . for thanksgiving lunch. and then that evening we're coming back to my apartment and having my moms thanksgiving dinner!

Only traveling about 30 minutes so not that bad but they are predicting snow for tomorrow..yikes...it's 60 today and snow for tomorrow....that's what it's like living on Lake Erie with lake effect snow.:eek:

Going to my girlfriend's house with her family that I have known for over 40 years....we met in gradeschool so it's been a long time that we have been friends.

I have been the Thanksgiving chef for our family for the last 6 years, my mother use to do it but when she became sick with cancer I took over. Since she passed my father is re-married and his new wife offered to cook this year, so all we have to do is drive about an hour to their house. I am only preparing my mothers awesome recipe of cranberry salad that my dad requested. I don't know how to act not having to prepare a huge dinner. So nice of the step mom.

I am taking Banjo to St. Louis to my sisters! He will get to meet his cousin Rusty, a 6lb RED poodle! It is only about 120 miles to STL ! I am leaving in AM since snow showers are in the forcast for the evening! We are planning to go toOld ST. Charles on Fri- the historical town when the start the Christmas events! Should be a good time- and my sis is a great cook!!!yum Snow shows tomorrow- 70 here today! Nothing like that good ol' Missouri weather!LOL
