Tell me your ideas to tell everyone prego at Christmas I go for my second HCG level on Tuesday to make sure it is increasing for a normal pregnancy. Thinking of ways to tell everyone pregnant at Christmas, if I can wait that long. Tell me your ideas!!!!!!!! |
Maybe have them unwrap some baby items. Or maybe something that says "grandma" on it for the grandma, "grandpa" for the grandpa, etc. My nephew told us his wife was having a baby at Easter by having us open a card and mine had a little "Aunt" pin that I could wear. |
My daughter had a t-shirt made for her dog and it said "I am going to be a big Sister" .:D |
Those are all great ideas so far.... I have seen the things made to say "grandma/grandpa/aunt, etc" like bibs, tees, etc. |

Alot of malls around here have booths that write on Christmas tree decorations-I would get one that says "We are having a baby, Love & your names" and hang it on the Christmas tree. Congratulations and good luck |
I was going to suggest grandma/grandpa bibs to give as gifts. |

This is what I was going to suggest. This is what I really wanted to do with Chloe wearing the big sister shirt but I was too impatient and waited like a day and ended up calling everyone when I found out I was pregnant  |
Have your husband "buy" and "give" you a maternity outfit for Christmas... then open it in front of everyone. Or, better yet, "mismark" who it's for, have someone else open it, so everyone's really confused, and then claim it!!! ;) Buy your close family members childrens books for Christmas-ones that were your favorite, or their favorites, or have sentimental meanings. Then tell them it's to read to your baby! Send poinsettias with a card that says "Happy Holidays from Jane, John, and Baby Doe" (only use your names, obviously!)...then wait for the phone calls to flood in! One of my coworkers did this! Bring Christmas cookies to work or family/friends houses-only frost them in pink and blue. Slyly leave them on the counter, and everyone will get really excited!!! (this is a tradition in my office-we know someone's pregnant when there are pink and blue treats in the break room. Half the fun is guessing!) |
Maybe in Christmas cards?? When you get a sonogram you can put the picture in them... |

(which gave me one to elaborate on that one, if you don't mind...) How about finding a picture of a baby in a Santa hat, and using that as the front of your Christmas card? |

Maybe add a little poem to it too... Wouldn't you know it, I peed on a stick We're having a baby- Maybe little Allison or Nick? It's the best Christmas present For which anyone could ask Hooray Yippee We'll be parents at last! ...or maybe not :) I'm sure you can do better!!! |
Bids Idea is great.Congrats:congrats: :jump28ib: :cheer: :cheer: :mademyday |
Heres what my daughter did when she told us. She bought one of those little photo albums and on each page it had a little note so when they flipped through each page it said a few words and the last page said we are having a baby. It went some thing like this, coming to your town soon are you ready? well get ready because Crystal and Scott are having a Baby when I got to the last page I just stared at it, because they had been wanting a baby for a long time. and it was so neat finding out that way. when I read it an dlooke dup at my daughter she had tears in her eyes, I did too. awww |
Well.... Here is how I told one of my bosses... strange I know.. (we were close) Anyways.... Ok... you have to know my husband. So.... one day he called me & had me come home during lunch. All I was allowed to do was come home... pee in a pill bottle thing ... and go back to work. I told him he was crazy but he just had this GUT feeling. So, I ammused him and came home, peed in the cup and went back to work. ANYWAYS.... little did I know he set up a camcorder and recorded himself dipping the stick in the bottle & running the test. NOW>>>> what is comical about the whole thing is... you have to wait like, what ?? 3 minutes for results??? SOOOO he proceeds to read the instructions on how to do the test to pass time... OUTLOUD to the camera  (goober) soooo as time is passing he comes to the part about how long it takes, he looks at his watch and states it has been about 2 minutes or so and he would give it a little bit longer... shortly after that he bumps the paper and it moves, revealing the stick.... and BOOM... wouldnt ya know it... I am pregnant!!!! What followed was the funnies thing EVER... his reaction was completely PRICELESS... He picks up the stick, looks at it real close to make sure, puts it up close for the camera to see, looks at it again .... THEN.... throws it down and runs backwards making some goofy, little girl sounding noise... it was sooooo funny. There were words that werent suitable for all ears so neeless to say he did some dubbing over that bad words ... the dubbing said..."bad word... bad, bad badddd word" It was too funny. I took that video to work with me, sat my boss down in from of a TV and told her I had something she just HAD to watch.... It did not take long for her to catch on to what I was trying to tell her and by the end of the video she was laughing, crying and soooo excited... Anyways... moral of the story... make a video that springs the surprise on them just acting as if you made a short Christmas wish to everyone and play it when everyone gets together.... CONGRATULATIONS and have fun with our announcement P.S..... that is also what you see at the beginning of my sons "baby video" that ..... then a fat belly & his room... then him RIGHT after he was born then throughout his young life... a WONDERFUL treasure I could never live without. |

An idea - get your parents a baby doll and all the 'fixins', diapers for it, a bottle, clothes, for a Christmas present so they can start 'refreshing' their skills. Save it for last so everyone will be curious as to why, something about a 'saved gift' gets everyone excited. Shouldn't take 'em too long to figure it out! |

I would them all unwrap little baby bottles and put a message inside them that says "baby to be added on "xx/xx/xxxx" date" so that everyone see's the message in the "bottle" and knows what your due date is :) this keeps you from having to answer that question a hundred times LOL whatever you decide to do, I can't wait to hear about it :) |
