What do you think about Dooney and Bourke?
 
I have a dooney now and my bf asked me if I want a Coach for Christmas (his mom and sister both have one). I really don't want a Coach and told him I want another Dooney; he then said he thought Dooney was out and Coach is whats "in". What do y'all think? I really like Dooney and don't want a Coach just like his mom and sis.

Personally I only go with what I like, not what's in. If you want the Dooney then stick with that. I love both and would take either one. ;) If you don't want it, feel free to send it my along with that precious little boy of yours. :p

Well I think the craze of those multicolored bags is out, but that is just my personal opinion...It started several years ago with the LV monogram canvas in color and then several other brands adopted it and it was HUGE! I do not think brands go out so much as the styles do...DB is a pretty classic brand and good quality so I would say it is not out, but some of the styles get outdated. Same with coach, same with virtually all bags with the exception of like a classic LV monogram canvas and old standbys even then certain shapes become disfavored...Sorry for the ramble, I love bags!

That's how I feel, I like Dooney better and don't want a Coach just because its "in". Don't get me wrong, I like Coach too but, prefer Dooney. Mainly I don't want a purse just like his mom and sister (I don't get along well with his sister lol). Lol, I may take you up on that offer on days when he's a menace. :p

Oh, I don't like the colored ones either. The one I have now is a classic and the one I want is a classic. I think the colored ones are for younger kids. Lol, I'm only 19 so I don't know how much younger I'm talking but, you get what I mean??

I love Dooney purses...The classic ones are my favorite. I never got into the whole multi-colored fad. I say go with the one you like best :)

It is totally a matter of taste and you should go with what you feel good carrying...On the other hand there was an article in one of the style magazines that Coach has had a revival and very popular this year. Likely because they have added some $1,000 purses to their line:rolleyes:

I have one of each, and never use them.. go figure. But I am in love with Vera Bradley right now, so I would prefer those.

Dooney and Bourke here at least is a little less popular than Coach, but I wouldnt choose Coach just because its a popular brand, actually the fact that everyone has one makes me turn away from the Coach brand. I am not saying that Coach is bad, or I dont like Coach because I do but if I was to buy a designer bag I would buy one that was a little less popular than Coach is.

I have both Dooney and Coach bags, (A LOT)more Coach than Dooney though. It's what you really like, for example right now there is a Dooney Zebra bag that I am in LOVE with but no Coach that I'm interested in at all. I mean if you like Dooney and want to get a Coach who cares its not like the Dooney police are going to come after you :cool: Afterall its YOU that will be using the bag not your in-laws.

I just ordered a Dooney. I like the quilted signature pattern. I also just bought a coach. I'm also eye balling that animal print dooney!!!!

I like DB but right now I have a burberry bag and absolutely LOVE it. I would take a look at them if you want something different:)

Dooney & Bourke will NEVER go out of style... They are classic bags and live up to their reputation. As you can tell I am definitely a Dooney girl... I have way more than I should:D

I went to the Burberry outlet in Atlanta last weekend.....and I think I would like a Burberry bag....saw a lady on an airplane recently with a huge Burberry and she stuffed everything in her bag and I just loved that......but, they did not have the same bag at the Outlet.....:(. But, I have a few Louis V's....but, they are too expensive for the most part.......and Burberry is about the same price as the DB......

Ck them out!

I'm not really into Coach. I like Dooney better. I recently bought my Daughter (16) a Dooney to use as a bookbag. It's like a HUGE satchel. She loves it and carrys all herbooks in it everyday

I do not look at the fabric ones....the vinyl canvas is cheaper...and the ones I like are about $450.
