would this irritate you so my best friends and i decided last year instead of exchanging gifts we would do an ornament party where we exchange ornaments that remind us of one another, well my best friend picked the place and time last year and we went and had a good time well all year she complained about if it had not been for her we would have never all gotten together and she didnt want anything to do with it this year so i picked this nice restaurant and time and this restaurant has very good specials on the day i chose since money is always so tight around the holidays well now she is complaining saying we should do it on a weekend so we can hang out longer and we should have a house party instead to save money:rolleyes: urghhhh!! if she wanted to plan it then she shouldnt have bi!#hed all year and said she didnt want anything to do with it! I'm not mad just very irritated am i overreacting or would you be upset too? |
Well it's annoying but maybe you're missing what it's all about. It's about you and your friends getting together and enjoying each others company. It doesn't matter how you get there, just so long as you're there. While it's annoying for her to complain, just ask her if she wants to help you plan it. Say if you think a houseparty is better do you want me to help you plan it, if not, then the restaurant it is. Just use some tact, but try not to get yourself worked up. It's supposed to be fun :D I'm always the one who plans everything for all my friends, cause htey are all too lazy, so when I get annoyed I try to remember how much fun we have at the end of the day. |
I would feel annoyed but would just not worry about it. It sounds like all the moaning she was doing was so you could tell her how good a job she did. She may not like you getting the credit this year. |
We have a friends christmas party every yr, We all take turns at our houses that way no one is hurt, when its your turn, you get to pick the games and the menu, We limit our gifts to 20.00 per couple, we have about 15 couples now.Sounds like you are hurt and maybe you should say something, or just go with the flow with her;) and next yr plan something you want:D |
Thanks guys, all great advice it's just that she griped all year and already said she didnt want anything to do with it this year but as soon as i make the plans they are not good enough for whatever reason:mad: what kills me though is we are doing it on the same day of the week this year as last year; but last year she didnt want it on a weekend b/c she spent every weekend with her boyfriend but now that they are not together she wants a weekend. |
I would be very aggravated too....in fact, I am just reading this! I would just tell her that she can plan it from now on, but this years is alreayd planned and you went through all the work to get it planned, so tough! Tell her that you hope she will enjoy it because you will just enjoy spending time with her and the other friends....no matter where or when it is. |
