Crafty people.. Isn't there something that I can do to those plain glass Christmas ornament balls to make them look more vintage-like? I feel like I read somewhere about adding some type of liquid to the inside to remove some of the shininess. Anyone know what I'm talking about or am I just crazy? :p |
I know they make crackle paint that gives it that old look. My mom is crafty and she said use burnt umber folk art paint and just rub in on and then wipe it off. I hope this helps. |
you could always hot glue beads or ribbon to the outside, whatever design or style/era you are looking for... I have seen this done and it is pretty nice.. I have never heard of putting something inside them, might make them too heavy? hmmmmmm if I were more crafty I might know.... haha d |

Wonder if they make it in metallic colors? |

Again, I could be completely making it up and the idea came in a dream or something. :p |
I don't know how to make them a vintage color, I just bead nets and covers and make beaded hot air balloons out of them |

You could always paint the ornament with metallic paint first, then the burnt umber, and then metallic over it. It would still give it that old look. Then get some spray to seal the paint. :) |

You are not dreaming. I have heard of it, too, but I can't remember what it is. It takes the colored paint out of the inside leaving it clear. Maybe it's paint thinner?? ;) Nah, it wasn't that. Can't remember what... |
