Crocheters: I need a pattern OK, I haven't crocheted much in a long time. I used to make afghans all the time when I worked for GTE (busy work for a telephone operator!). Anyway, I would like to make one for my family room. I'm making it with this kind of krinkly yarn: Lion Brand Homespun. Anyway, I wanted one that would go pretty fast, so I picked up a booklet of patterns that are designed to be done in a day (not that I'd really get it done in a day). This pattern uses two strands and a Q hook. Well, I just don't like this Q hook or the two strands bit. What I'd like to do is a ripple pattern, but not the typical sc or dc ripple--which takes a long time--but a more open and lacy one, one that will probably go a bit faster. And since I'm not too hot on this Q hook, I think I'd feel more comforable using 1 strand and a J hook or something in that range. Anyone have a stitch for me? I can work out the size and colors myself. Basically, I need ideas for the type of stitch to work it in. Thanks!! :) |
Here's a great site that has free patterns. I just finished the round afghan. http://www.crochetpatterncentral.com...ry/afghans.php |
