Embarrassing Question, but do you know....
 

...what it means when you ALWAYS have to go "pee"??? :blush:

I am just getting frustrating with my doctor. I went in several months ago because every month, they were treating me for UTI's....this last time, I was like "why do I keep getting them and why do I get up so much at night to go?"....

So, urine test come back clean (no UTI, which is weird because I had all the painful symptoms)....bloodwork come back wonderful (checked liver, kidney, diabetes, etc).

Next, was an ultrasound to measure my bladder - scan done on full bladder than immediately right after it was emptied :blush:
Haven't heard back from that yet (almost two weeks!!!:mad:)
They wanted to do that to see if urine was being left after being "emptied" and if so, then it might need to be dilated?!:eek:

I just don't understand what is going on....All I drink is water or Crystal Light or Green Tea....no milk, no "cokes", etc. I do drink water with dinner and I will have water between dinner and bedtime (because I am always thirsty). Just the getting up several times at night to go is really bothering me.

Sorry for the WAY off embarrassing topic....just hoping that maybe someone has gone thru the same thing or might know something!

I pee a lot too and get up at night. Try not to drink much after 8 PM, and also make sure you exercise everyday. When the body is tired, you sleep better and don't wake up to go to the bathroom, but if the body is not tired is like when you are awake and you have to go to the bathroom every 1-2 hours.

I believe this is what the pharmaceutical companies call an "overactive bladder". There is medication to help you not need to go as much.

Unfortunately, I am all too familiar with very frequent UTI's. I also go lots and usually get up at least once in the night to go. I have also been told it gets worse with age :eek: !!! At least maybe it will help to know you're not alone....

im 20 and i have always gotten UTIs (is this the same as bladder infections)

it has gotten worse. lately but i just deal with it. the doctor actually told me some people are prone to them

My mom has it. I think her bladder got weak or something like that and she has to take a pill every day. You'll be ok. :D

Could be just an overactive bladder. Hopefully, that's the case, and that can be treated. Ask your doctor about IC That's ridiculous. Call them immediately, and ask for your results. There's no excuse for a two week delay. Hope you feel better, soon. Keep us posted!

I understand your frustrations not sure if this could be the same thing or not but growing up I suffered from Reflux of the bladder, which affected both my bladder and kidneys.

I always had the urge to pee and would wet my pants a lot. My parents took me to a urologist and that's what they found out. Urine was backing up from my bladder into my kidney's causing UTI's, bladder infections and yeast infection like symptoms. (which is not something normal for a 6 year old little girl). I was also on Bactrim almost every day for 6 years.

I also had to have ultrasounds done on my kidneys and bladder and also had thsi cathater test which they pump your bladder full of fluid and a dye and then take pictures when it's emptied. Painful.

Anyway when I was 9 I had corrective surgery and haven't had a problem since. It's something that is usually found in childhood but you might want to do some research on it. Because you could be experiencing this.

I have an over active bladder and you just described my life before Detrol LA (medication). I used to think I was having UTIs all the time, but wasn't.

There is another issue associated with over-active bladder and that is ulcers in the bladder. The ulcers get inflamed when you eat acidic food, like tomatoes or oranges. Caffine (which green tea has) will make the over-active part worse, too.

When I got on Detrol LA, it was like a god-send. My bladder is no longer in the forefront of my mind. I feel normal again.

I get the caffiene free kind....I think it is Lipton Green Tea....so that should be okay, right?

My MIL use to have this done, but no, they do the ultrasound...quick, easy and painless. WHEW!! THANK goodness!!

I have had all of those symptoms too...they put me and DH both on some potent yeast pill :blush: (not to be gross) because I kept having these every month too. The pill, you normally just take one and you are good...we both had to take three of them! So far, so good with that!

Thanks Ellie....I DO need to exercise more...and DH always tells me a need a job so I will go to sleep...I have so much running thru my brain at night and I like to talk or get up and do stuff.....I will try that! That will be my PUSH to get motivated more with my exercise routine! :thumbup:

BTW.....did you get a total on the shipping for my goodies?! I am in no hurry, just didn't want you to think I forgot!

Good. DON'T let him put you off, and DON'T let him tell you he knows nothing about it. If he doesn't seem to know about it, run! Find another doc pronto. Seriously, it's more common than you'd think, and far too many women are over-treated on antibiotics thinking it's uti. I happen to have a very savvy gp, who sent me to a specialist when my tests came back clear of uti; but I was still having the pain.

I pee all the time too!!! I went to the docs like 6 months ago thinking I had a UTI and I didn't and that was the end of it. But ever since then I always go. I can't hold it very long either. It sucks really bad too when you are at some place where you can't go because that is all you think about while you are there and you really can't enjoy yourself. I really need to go to the docs again but I hate going there and waiting over an hour to see the doc for 5 minutes.

Try to stop drinking anything with caffeine, and stop drinking pretty early in the day. By say around 6 PM. See if that helps.

I pee not often but when I have to go I better go right away. It sucks. I'm 20 and I pee my pants more than my grandma! :eek: I only had this problem after I had my son.

I have had over active bladder for yrs, It sucks ( sorry but it does) I get up 2-3 times a night, Go at least 15 times a day, cant hold it either or i get pains, Im being tested next week on my bladder & kidneys, I hope you find out soon from your doc, beleive me its no fun, so i know how you feel:) good luck to you.

for me i retain water for some reason but my dr doesnt believe me because he cant find a reason but i know thats what it is my fingers and hands feel all tight and sometimes my face is puffy but by time i get into see him i have peed it all out grrr

I was having an issue almost like that and my doc told me NO MORE GREEN TEA! So I did and I was better.

Might not hurt to lay off of it for a while and see if that makes a difference.

Well...we didn't get all those darn lady bugs :ladybug: We sucked up so many of those little buggers....but we have more...with these temps, they just don't know what to do.:mad:

I will definitely cut out black tea and green tea......I don't drink much things anymore. I have had coke or normal tea in over four years....I haven't had milk in several months (which helped with my stomach)...so water, crystal light and when my tummy hearts (sprite), and OJ every now and then...it gets kind of boring!!! BUT I will knock out a few more and see how that is.

I am calling the doctor today because I didn't hear from him yesterday!:mad:

Well, I finally FINALLY get a return call from the doctor.....well, his nurse. She said that she had tried to get in touch with me last week....whatever!

Anyway, she said that the bladder scan (measuring) was normally.....I forgot the amount that was in there the first scan and the second scan, but she said it was normal, so I was not holding urine.

She asked about my gyno appts...all those tests came back normal too.

So, she said they wanted to try a low dose of Nexium (does that sound right) to see if that helps...

I asked about IC and she said that was something that they would have to refer me to an urologist...but she said to try these pills first.

Humph....I honestly HATE taking meds!!! BUT I am trying all different things.....so hopefully all in conjunction with each other will show some signs of improving!

I just think it is weird and I really don't know if the Nexium for "bladder spasms" will help with the pain, burning, etc. BUT I will try it anyway!

Any of you know anything or have used Nexium (and I may totally be off on the name....DH is picking it up for me).

Nexium is RX strength for acid reflux, or stomache upset.

Bladder spasms....??? :confused: Well, anything's possible. I know many meds have attributes that treat different problems.

My bad.....it is Enablex. They gave me four cups that I believe have one pill each in it. To try that and then to let them know. Anyone use that? But will it help with the other issues??? Hummm......Maybe I just need to go straight to the Urologist??
