Anyone been on Accutane I've taken it twice already and both times it worked really well. So i was wondering would it be bad to take it a 3rd time? I don't want to have like infertility problems in the future or something like that. While i was on it i had to take birth control pills both times cause of the side effects if you're to get pregnant. I had none of those other bad side effects like depression, etc. i just had dry lips, kinda dry skin but it made my skin soooo clear. So what do you think if you've been on it before? Help. My acne is starting to come back and im afraid it will be like before:( I get so depressed when i have acne, i mean like really depressed, to the point i don't want to go out at all. |
My son was on that and it made his skin extremely dry and flakey. He also had to have liver and kidney tests every couple of weeks or once a month, since that stuff can really cause problems with them. He came out ok, just a few scars. It's been over 11 years since he quit taking it and the acne hasn't returned, but he does get a pimple once in awhile. He too is worried it may come back, and has changed his eating practices. I told him to stop drinking milk because he was very allergic to it as a baby and it made his face break out. |

Stress plays a MAJOR role on our health that's for sure. I think most health problems comes from being stressed. Certain foods can help with stress, but you also have to make adjustments in your daily life as well. I'm not a bit stressed at home or driving around my own area or even driving north, but boy, get me near LA and on down to San Diego and every muscle in my body is frozen in fear. I could live in a fast pace area. |
I meant to say I "couldn't" live in a fast paced area. I love visiting our son in San Francisco and driving around that city doesn't bother me one bit for some reason. I LOVE it there! I wouldn't live there however because the daily life would be just far to noisy and busy. |
I was on accutane in my early 30's and had to stop, :( I had pressure behind my eyes giving me horrible headaches. My daughter is on it for the second time right now, she's looking great too. My dermotologist told me that people usually have to take it in their 20's then 30's and 40's, so every ten years to keep the max. benefits. |
I tried it once, it was horrible for me. I don't think I even did it for a week, the flakey dryness was too much for me to handle. I went on mino-cyclene for a while, it seemed to really help but I'm so lazy when it comes to taking pills so I didn't refill after the first Rx ran out. Now I use pro-active, for me it keeps the acne under control. I still have the "monthly" break out but its very minimal compared to before. |

Hummm...our dermatologist didn't even give this as one of our options....my daughter and I are both on monocyline (sp) right now for ours...I am not sure if it works well or not...we have only been on it for a month and I know it takes awhile for it to work though. No side effects with it. |

Why birth control with it? --just curious. Did you try the new birth control pill "Yaz"..(sp)......It is suppose to be really good for clearing up acne. |
