I just hate Mondays!
 
Mondays i have a late night class, Bio that lasts like 3 hrs cause its only once a week. Well by the time i get out of class there are no more shuttles to the LIRR from my school and i have to call a cab. Well i did and they always say"be ready". Well i was ready like always and guess what? No cab in sight and i missed the 8:28 train to Penn station, so im here back at school and the next train is at 9:40, and im going to have to walk to the lirr which is like 1/2 hr in the dark and it's pretty scary all alone. It just sucks that these cabs aren't reliable, i call like 40 min ahead of time and still they make me miss the train!:(

Oh my gosh, that's scary. You should carry Pepper Spray or something like it with you in case you get into situations like this one. You are having a bad Monday, sorry.....:(

i know i want to get one of those! It's rare for me to walk, this will be my 1st time walking by myself but the cabs are just so unreliable here

Sorry you are having a bad MONDAY!!! Just be safe and keep warm...NYC Cabs are the horrible:thumbdown

Oh man that's scary...I live in a small town so I'm not used to all of that. I'm sorry you are having a bad Monday....

o no its not NYC cabs, its LI cabs. Im in LI, i can catch a cab in NYC in a split second! But here in LI you have to call 40 min before and even yet they still don't guarantee they will make it in time:mad:

I really need a car! lol im saving up for that, its kinda like not having a car like in Florida, etc. somewhere where everyone has a car, that is what LI is like. In nyc its pretty safe to walk cause there's ppl at all times outside but not here. It's dead!

Be safe post when you are safely home. Please get some pepper spray or something. I have a 22 year old college student and I woryy about her at night but she has a car.

Sorry Mondays are so stinky for you Sarah. When I was in college I had a similar issue walking late at night. I had a late class that let out at 9. At my college there was never any parking and I would have to park across these train tracks that were so far from my building. It was always so dark and scared the heck out of me. Please get yourself some pepper spray. There are definately too many nutcases out there. Be careful girl!! :)

Man do I sympathize with you. Only, my shuttle would always be full of students. I would have to leave school 10 minutes before class was over.. in hopes of securing a seat on my shuttle bus. Once, I stood outside, I watched 6 buses pass me by because they were so full of students. I didn't get to get on a bus until 6 pm.. nearly 5 hours after their usual routes. This happened to me so much so that I would just walk to the BART station and get off the nearest stop and just walk the 12 blocks to get home. (with my clothes and books by the way) At least then I could control when I got home!

oh no! i'm sorry! be safe, i'm a chicken so i wouldn't even walk! haha i hate mondays too, even though it's my short day of the week 9-12... wednesdays suck for me 9-12, 1-3, 6-9..... But I only live a few miles from campus. But. Luckily I drive there! I can't imagine having to walk in the scary dark! i hate just walking to my car after my night class! be safe!!!!!!!

I always vow not to take night classes (as they are HORRIBLE) yet I do every semester! I never learn..

I take night classes sometimes and I get scared walking the few hundred yards from my class to the parking lot.

Aww you guys are angel! Thank you so much!! ;) :) I am home now!! I just got home and it's 11:48, well a couple of min. ago actually but i just read the rest of this thread. Okay so it was scary walking alone, especially now that it is halloween and people have SCARY decorations outside their homes! :rolleyes: I had some of the ppl's houses lights to see but there were some pitch black spots that i had to walk next to bushes and was really scary! My mom was worried sick about me cause she found out i was walking but i can't do anything about those cabs, so i was on my cell phone the whole way talking to my bf and felt a lot better that way. And he was there listening incase anything happened. I just hate too that there are barely sidewalks and the cars speed so i feel like one will just hit me lol but thankfully i am home! yay and i am not doing that again! ....Hopefully! And it was cold! My hands feel like ice still

aww thanks! Yea i am going to try to get that pepper spray pronto! ohh i can't wait to say the same as her, i think i will be living in my car,lol it will come in so much use!

That sounds scary! Especially when you are a girl walking alone, there are def. a lot of crazy ppl out there that won't think about consequences and just do crazy things. Good thing nothing ever happened! Thank you girl! :)

haha you're funny. :p I know i def. need to figure something out. I didn't intend to take a night class since i commute from the city but all the other sciences were taken and it's required so it was the only one left. Nxt semester i am not taking any night classes. I am already registered for 2 classes so far that are early, and hopefully by nxt semester i will have a car and won't have to go thru this again!

o wow i know what you mean about shuttles being full of students! When i went to visit a friend at her college upstate, most of their transportations to parties were the free shuttles. Well when we left the parties we would have to wait another like 2 hrs just to go back to the dorms cause everytime a shuttle would come it would be full of other students, and that was a time it was freezing cold, it was soo annoying! The shuttles at my school are like reg. buses, you have to pay the $2, but the last one leaves my school at 7:26 and i get out of class at 8:40 but he lets us out earlier a lot of times.
