Need Help: PhotoShop Question!!! PLEASE!
 
Adobe PhotoShop Elements 4.0

Is there a way to edit a picture.....like, I have a cute picture of Mojo, but he has hair in his eyes...is there anyway to cut out that hair and save it to look like nothing was wrong??

I tried the eraser tool, but that just erased everything.....

Is there a way to erase the foreground and leave the background on the actual photo??

I have went through the help menu and it didn't help:rolleyes: :cool:

I use PaintShopPro instead of PhotoShop, but they are basically the same program. When I've had to fix something like that, I have painstakingly used the clone tool to "cover" the offending piece of hair, etc. with what should be showing - like the eye or the surrounding fur. If that would work with your picture, you might need to blow it up pretty big to work with the pixels. Depending on how the hair looks around the eye, the other thing you might try is cloning an entire eye from a different picture. Some pics, things just work better on than others. I had one of my daughter that had her eyes closed, and I copied some open eyes from a different picture in. Took some tedious sizing work to get it just perfect, but the end result was indetectible. Wow...that sounds time consuming....Thanks for the information...I have my daughter working on it...I will see what she can do!

I wish there was some site or book for PhotoShop...a shortcut to everything you can do on it!

I wish I could figure mine out...I've been googling "Photoshop Forum" and going on YouTube there's videos on there to watch it helps me better if I have a visual to watch....Good luck...

Awww, aren't daughters great!! If she gets it to work, you should post the before and after, so we can pat her on the back!! :thumbup:

Well, she gave up on it after awhile...she figured out some other things that we never messed with, but not what I was needing....:( If we get time today, we will both play around with it!

Oh I dont know what I got myself into. I just purchased that Photoshop and I am still afraid of even Opening it :eek: A forum?? I think I need help too, the main reason I got it was to "fix" my pics, but by the sound of it its going to be waaaayyy too complicated :(

You'll be fine. You can make these programs as simple or as complicated as you want. Most of them have "smart fixes" to help you fix the most common things. Then, as you get brave, you can venture into the more complicated stuff. PaintShop Pro and Photoshop both have nice tutorials that will walk you through it. OPEN THAT BOX!! :D
