Polka Dot Lawn  Hi everybody, My husband has spent a lot of time (since he retired) grooming our lawn in Connecticut so it's a beautiful green:D . Now that the lawn is so beautiful, the yellow polka dots :eyetearss from my babies peeing really stand out. Is there a solution? I will appreciate any help you could give me. Thanks. :thumbs up |
The yellow is from the uric acid in the urine. Female dogs usually have a greater concentration of uric acid than males. Putting some Lime on the area will help to neutralize the uric acid, but short of watering every time the babies pee, you just need to live with it. Perhaps using an x-pen so they are confined to just one section of the yard would help as well..... P.S. Welcome to YT!! |
aaaahhhhhh..I think green with yellow polka dots is very fashionable:D |
Thanks for the info and the welcome. I will try lime. The spots are really big. Also thanks for the welcome. I love polka dots, but not on the lawn. My husband has worked soooooo hard to make it pretty.. |
Anti yellow suplement... if you reaserch on line you will find a lot of suplements to diminish the "polka dots" hehhehehe... it seems to neutralize the acid before expelled.... i read about it in a few dogs magazines as well, just do not remember where ... it must not be fun i believe... we have being trying to get our lawn starit for quite a while now and it just seems that we are not good gardeners to begin with... but i can relate... You could try the "petedge" catalog and browse for the suplement ... have tryed your vets opinion? i am a vet "bugger"... i bug my vet with all silly questions and sometimes they turn out to have very great answers... so i would try that as well... he may know a good and efficient fix for the "yellow polka dots" that obviously are not beloved at all... Good luck....::D |
